FIVB World League Championships
or Quads Volleyball Tournament
This is a call for a Quads tournament based on the FIVB World League, the yearly volleyball championships. Because of the amount of games going out, players MUST be premiums.
Teams of 4 will register under their pick of a world country (countries may only be picked once), and play in a tournament consisting of a Round-Robin round, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and the championship match. Each match-up will be a best 2-of-3 games match.
I will start the quads tournament with a minimum of 12 teams, but will go as high as 18 teams if there is enough interest.
Round-Robin Round
Teams will be split equally into either 2 or 3 groups, depending on the final roster size. Each team will then play once against each other team in their group. Maps played will be one each of: Hong Kong, San Francisco, and Vancouver, preliminary play cities. Each of these 5 matches will be sent out one at a time, but each of the 3 games for a match will be sent together.
If there are 2 groups in this stage, the top 4 teams from each group will proceed to bracket play. If there are 3 groups, the top 2 teams from each group, plus the next 2 teams overall with the best records will proceed to bracket play. Ties between possible winners in each group will be broken first by least number of game losses, then least amount of combined rounds played (between all games that team has played), and then a tiebreaker game 1v1 between team captains. Ties between possible wildcard teams will follow the same breaking rules, except that the MOST amount of rounds taken to win will be used (the teams that held out the longest but still lost)
Bracket Tournament
Each match-up in the Bracket tournament (Quarter-, Semi-, and Finals) will consist of a best 2-of-3 games played on Brazil, the tournament host.
ALL GAMES will be played with settings of: Auto, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, and Sunny.
>>Please sign up below with your team of 4, and choose your team's country, team name and a team captain. Countries may only be picked once, and you MAY reserve a slot and country and fill in your teammates later. Players without teams are encouraged to sign up, and we may be able to make a team or two with those players.
