Movie Synopsis: 'The Departed' is set in South Boston, where the state police force is waging war on organized crime. Young undercover cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by gangland chief Costello (Jack Nicholson). While Billy is quickly gaining Costello’s confidence, Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the police department as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the gangsters and the police that there’s a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy.
Standard Rules
This is my first time Modding a Mafia game. I'm currently playing Anarkistsdream's TOMBSTONE mafia game and really like how he does his game, so I will use much of the same rules. This game was complicated to put together, so if anyone thinks of something I missed, a loophole or anything, please tell me so we can keep the game going in a successful way and have a fun time without anything ruining it. Thank you!
1. This game is moderated by me, MountainLion, I am the law. Whatever I say goes. If I make a mistake, let me know and I’ll do my best to fix it.
2. Do not quote any PMs you receive from the Mod. You are strongly suggested to NOT post anything about your character's name or if you have any OR no powers. This game is unique from most mafia games in that both Pro-Town and Pro-Mafia each have a rat within each other, so there's meant to be distrust all through the game. Billy Costigan and Colin Sullivan will make sure of that.
3. Please keep the PM I send you with info on your role. Do not delete it. Some of the roles in this game are complicated, and I expect you to know what you're doing.
4. All ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in bold. If they are not, they will not be tallied. (I.E. Vote: SomeDood)
** If you vote two or more times consecutively without an unvote in between them, then the first vote will be the one that gets tallied. **
5. Lynching requires a majority of the town vote, and once the majority has been reached any and all unvotes will not be counted.
6. Once your death scene has been posted, you are dead. You can no longer post anything - PERIOD. Feel free to continue to read the thread, but do not post.
7. You may vote ‘no lynch’ to end the day without a death.
8. The game will not be discussed outside this thread.
9. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record. If I see people breaking this, they will be modkilled.
10. Day scenes I write will be kick ass and help add to the flavor of the game. Don’t read too far into them. No clues or game information will be hidden in the text.
11. Please do not spam. Do not post during NIGHT time. Joking around is fine, but don't let it get carried away. I will remind you to get back on track.
12. Be attentive and active in the game. If I see you are not posting at all, I may kill your character. There will be subs who will take your place (I.E. Talapus). Anyone who's NOT in this game can sign up to be another sub if they like...you never know when we could use more subs.
13. Each game 'day' will last 3 (24 hour) days. I will remind everyone if the deadline is near, and to look toward voting. If no majority is reached at the end of the 'day,' a 'no lynch' will be forced, sending the game into the night phase.
14. Each game ‘night’ will last 2 (24 hour) days. I will remind all those who have night choices when the deadline is near. If at the end of the 'night' I have not received your night choice, you will have lost your choice action (I.E. for mafia, there would be a ‘no kill’, etc).
15. If you have any questions about whether you should or shouldn’t do something, or just need some clarification, feel free to PM me.
16. Everyone has a chance to play in my games, but when it's over if I think you've had more of a negative affect on the game than positive, you will be banned from any future games I mod. I've put a lot of work into this...please don't ruin it.
17. ABOVE ALL I hope this game is a success. I define a Mafia game successful if it's players are playing their part AND having fun. ENJOY THE GAME!
Final Note: There will be no Jester, Cult or Serial Killer in this game.
