2010-03-08 17:49:04 - General Brewsie: You guys are in luck. I never win this game!
2010-03-13 19:16:11 - john9blue: just lost 5-13. are you serious.
2010-03-13 22:53:32 - Enormastitz: growler for enormastitz
2010-03-16 18:08:23 - General Brewsie: Growler again? Man, you're like McDonalds: you're EVERYWHERE!!!!
2010-03-17 09:08:29 - Enormastitz: Nah I'm back now
2010-03-18 02:06:42 - john9blue: this game turned from great to horrible in like 3 turns lol
2010-03-19 10:40:02 - General Brewsie: Yeah, these games tend to do that, but you look to be hanging in there.
2010-03-19 21:27:27 - Enormastitz: none of us are going to be hanging on for much longer if you keep leaving green to build
2010-03-21 14:57:34 - Enormastitz: well played blue help out green a little more
2010-03-21 20:47:59 - General Brewsie: I took a chunk out of one of green's stacks, but with blue constantly building on my border I don't dare use more troop to attack with.
2010-03-22 02:15:01 - Easy n Dirty: "I took a chunk out of one of green's stacks..." - borderline comment in a fog game, in my opinion
2010-03-22 05:52:09 - john9blue: we'll leave our border as it is then red, agreed? no more troops for at least 5 turns.
2010-03-22 05:54:46 - john9blue: we need to make sure green doesn't take this easily
2010-03-22 19:32:44 - General Brewsie: How do you mean "borderline," Easy? My intention is not to do anything unethical, but I don't consider it unethical to tell others what I find in a foggy game. I believe it would be perfectly okay to say something even more specifically, such as "Hey
2010-03-22 19:35:08 - General Brewsie: everyone, watch out. Red has a stack of 20 built on Ethiopia," because any other player can do the same with what they find of my progress. My challenge is to protect my secret stacks. What do the rest of you say?
2010-03-22 19:40:10 - General Brewsie: John, I propose something different. I don't want to commit to leaving my border with you as it is, because I may need to move troops back and forth. How about if we agree to not break that one specific border, no matter how many troop each of us has
2010-03-22 19:41:59 - General Brewsie: on it? And instead of five turns, how about if we make it a two-turn advance notice? That is, you tell me now that this very specific truce is over and I have my next turn plus one more to regroup my forces. Is that okay? Just that one border, remember
2010-03-22 20:07:49 - Easy n Dirty: I did not mean to accuse anyone of being unethical, perhaps it's mostly a difference of opinion - I think anything that informs other players of stuff they would not otherwise of known goes against the spirit of a fog game and should not be permitted
2010-03-22 20:09:05 - Easy n Dirty: arguably your initial comment about knoking down one of my stacks does not sirectly inform - but everyone knows what bonus I am holding, and therefore where my stacks are likely to be, so i would call it "borderline"
2010-03-22 20:09:44 - Easy n Dirty: having said all that, if you were to make a comment along the lines of "hey everyone, so-and-so has 20 troops on ethiopia"...that would clearly be unethical, i don't know how anyone could argue otherwise
2010-03-22 22:04:35 - john9blue: sounds good red
2010-03-22 22:05:56 - john9blue: i kind of frown upon revealing details in a fog game but it's not all that big of a deal in this case
2010-03-23 11:37:24 - Easy n Dirty: agreed blue, it did not impact the game in this case, but better to nip these things in the bud
2010-03-23 13:20:19 - General Brewsie: Quite a while back I read in the CC guidance that very specific statements such as the example I gave are explicitly permitted. I was a little surprised, but have gone by that guidance ever since. I can't find it now, so have asked one of the policy
2010-03-23 13:22:15 - General Brewsie: makers to clarify this, because as I said earlier I really don't want to do something that is unethical. On the other hand, if it is officially declared as acceptable, I think we should all abide by that as "the law of the land." Nevertheless, until we
2010-03-23 13:23:16 - General Brewsie: get a clear, explicit decision from "above" I'm willing to refrain from revealing to others what I know is occurring in the fog.
2010-03-23 18:29:02 - john9blue: it might be legal but you could still be rated poorly because of it...
2010-03-24 14:30:25 - General Brewsie: The following is the answer from the Chief Moderator regarding the CC policy we've been discussing:
2010-03-24 14:30:59 - General Brewsie: Sent: Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:38 pm From: AndyDufresne To: General Brewsie Ahoy General Brewsie, It is allowable under our rules for users to inform, or misinform (I.E. lie for strategic purposes) others in their games with Fog of War.
2010-03-24 14:32:54 - General Brewsie: I'll respect your wishes to refrain from doing that, but you should at least be aware that talking about what you see through the fog is explicitly allowed.
2010-03-24 15:20:46 - Easy n Dirty: well, i certainly wasn't aware of that, and i certainly don't agree with it either, but if those are the rules then so be it
2010-03-24 15:21:20 - Easy n Dirty: i'll think of it as similar to alliances - i don't like them at all and do not enter into them, but i recognize that they are technically permitted
2010-03-24 18:56:58 - General Brewsie: Holy catfish, Enormoas disappeared in this last round and I thought he was about to eat everyone's lunch!
2010-03-25 23:40:58 - john9blue: absolue SHIT dice green, you get to keep your bonus
2010-03-25 23:41:12 - john9blue: lost 25-11
2010-03-25 23:41:48 - john9blue: red we need to attack green with full force
2010-03-25 23:57:15 - General Brewsie: He's been the only one I've been hitting for many rounds. Unfortunately, my "full force" is that of an empty peanut shell in a typhoon.
2010-03-26 07:19:00 - john9blue: okay we both just lost the game, because my dice screwed me over. not cool
2010-03-26 07:19:34 - john9blue: gg guys
2010-03-26 13:01:09 - Easy n Dirty: gg
