Thanks for all the help Mr. Benn. I really appreciate it.MrBenn wrote:I like the look of this map - nice and crisp and clean.
1. I agree with edbeard that you should try and keep to the physical boundary of Panama, without needing bits of Columbia/Costa Rica
2. I think that the port sybol is a bit too black for the map at the moment - either make it slightly grey, or reduce the opacity slightly.
3. I'm not overly keen on the font you've used for the title... it doesn't quite fit with the look and feel of the rest of the map.
4. You've misspelt Costa Rica
5. You could have the ports as seperate territories (ie not part of the land territories)
6. I'm not sure the gameplay is very balanced at the moment - I haven't had n in-depth look, but Columbia looks very strong and easily defendable... you could easily expand into Darien, and hold both continents with defences in 3 territories (both ports and in the red country on the green border)...
7. I still think you should include the canal...
Thanks Fatty, I thought they looked pretty good too.the_fatty wrote:i like the ports. nice add.

To everyone voting for the canal:
what would adding the canal do for the map?
A blue line across the countries, confusing people?
A rediculously small country?
A "here be the canal---->" label on the map?
Seriously, besides the panama=canal link that everyone seems to have, what would it do for the map either for gameplay or graphics?
On the map, it says that all ports can attack other ports on the same ocean. Even if I had the canal on the map, it still wouldn't make both sides the same ocean.wcaclimbing wrote:Also, a second issue. With the ports on each side, wouldn't people assume that since there would be a canal painted on, that ports on both sides could attack eachother, because the canal links the two oceans?

1. I added those because the map has hardly any territories. I don't see it that big of a problem. In the Europe Map, it has parts of Africa and Russia. In the Montreal Map, it has parts of Monteregie and other places. I just don't really see how it will matter too much, except making the map have more territories, which is a good thing.
Dude, does it really have to be? I have had atleast three graphical updates. Having your thread stickied is a requirement is it?bryguy wrote:lanyards wrote:Request to be moved to the main foundry.

dude this isnt even stickied yet
Information Requirements on the first post of a maps thread
1. The number of territories currently on the map.
2. The number of continents. (If this makes sense for your map)
3. Descriptions of any unique features or areas.
