What I never understood is how the stereotype of "women love the Navy uniform" came around. Is it a joke that I never caught?

No im quite the traveller actually, travelled quite a bit in the countries i've stayed... I plan to cover a lot of south-east asia when I graduate over this summer!!! w00t!!!
