BOB is locking up FF all over the place (any and all games).

With 4.7.5...

I played a game on Connect 4 - then once I'd finished my turn - I clicked "Take me to next game" link...

FF then froze - and a few seconds later I got a popup saying that a script was having issues...

It mentioned Jquery - and asked if I wanted to stop or continue - I said continue - then I had to hose FF to get back in here.

Will let you know if it happens again... and will attempt to get better error reporting. (Error console is now blank)

With 4.7.5:

On Land and Sea (e.g. Game 5148714), Map Inspect doesn't work. Stats and Text Map seem to be fine and Map Inspect does work on other Maps.

EDIT: Map Inspect actually does seem to work on Land and Sea, judging by what is displayed below the map. But the highlighting of the countries doesn't work.

As for what yeti_c describes: I've ha that on several maps with 4.7.4 already.

Bug noted, now I have to create a situation where I can see the bug. It should probably be my turn in more than 1 game to test that.

Okay, wow - this one is REALLY bad! It turns out it happens anytime you try to navigate away from a game page. I found out the trick is to open the game with ctr-click and then when you are done, close the tab instead of clicking a link to "next game" or "my games".

But Jeez! It's not always easy to remember when you're on auto-pilot, and each mistake costs you like 30 seconds of your time. It can make for a very frustrating session. I think i might have to disable BOB until this one gets fixed. Is there an older version stored somewhere that I could revert to so that I can continue to use BOB until this is fixed?

Previous version:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/version/ ... 03.user.js
(just click the link to install, but it will blink because there is a new version).

Once I can duplicate it (haven't been able to yet), I will fix it. But for now I have no idea what is causing this behaviour.

(edit)
I've seen the error now, it seems like 1 jquery-call was kinda heavy, and I used that to update the clock. New version is available now.

and while much better, bugs are still there in new version...
FF RAM usage get up for around 60MB after you leaving game window... thats a bit too much considering while entering game it gets up for some 10-15MB...

Okay, wait - it just happened to me again. It was with the "jump to next game button", but the funny thing is that I can't recreate it with games in which I haven't just taken a turn. So if I go into a game, and push the button, all goes well, but last time I pushed the next game button at the end of a turn, I got the error again...

On a more positive note, I'm already appreciating one of the improvements in this version (or at least a recent one). I frequently end up clicking on a game and changing my mind before BOB loads completely, and I always used to get a pop-up error message when I did that about log downloading. It isn't there anymore, which is great! ;-)

Postby Pat on Thu Jul 09, 2009 10:42 am

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jq ... ry.js:2546"

wrong forum. viewtopic.php?f=59&t=46075 would be the right thread to post this into, BOB isn't part of the site.

But I'm working on it..

Funny thing happens with the latest version of BOB.

Both on my computer at home, and the one at work, I updated because it said there was a latest version available, but it lags really bad when i refresh a page, and sometimes when i try to go back to the main games menu...

I get a message that says

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jq ... ry.js:1297"

Is there a way to get an older version and disable the flashing red "UPDATE NOW" because it used to work well, but now it locks up the browser and mentions "Script: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jq ... ry.js:1297" which was mentioned earlier?

I think version 4.7.7 removes that script message. I haven't seen that message much myself, but the memory usage doesn't go up any more afterwards.
Weird problem, sorry.
