No, he's vanilla now, per his claim. That's why I thought it was low-risk to off him.

I guess that's true. He would be a better option than Mr. S since we don't know who is lying.

Well, 24 hours later, I'm going to go ahead and vote for DJ. Seems to me that one of them must be lying and DJ has a smaller downside if we lynch him.

I was told of the technicality because Vodean used the word seems. Since it goes off the entire post, I assume the post was taken as looking and what we were talking about and it seemed that we believed that one of the two of them was scum so the statement that Vodean made was truth. Its kind of a twist on things but I had two other that were correct so VT now or not why I am being targetted? It seems strange that chap who has come under fire a bunch is on of the first to fire across. While my last power use fumbled and at least I was alerted and told everyone not to follow it so there wasnt any further loss, I still came up with two good covers and got at least one. I may be expendable but I figured at this point I should be known as town so why would you fight again someone who is pretty sure to be town.

First of all, OMGUS much?

Second of all, the logic you attempt to use to lynch me can be used against PCM, our claimed Thor as well. Are you saying he's scummy too?

You're basically a VT now. You were told of a technicality of the post during the night? That's convenient now that I pressure you and someone else tried to kill you in the night as well. It's already been stated that you are targetted to verify whether or not you are truthful or Mr. S. is. I already said that. PCM said it before me. Maybe if you read the posts instead of getting that OMGUS rage in your eyes, it would be that hard to figure out. You're much less of a risk than Mr. S. Simple as that.

So, if you didn't want to get voted, maybe you should have come on here and explained your little technicality when I said this over 3 days ago now.

At this point I'm decidedly against the dj lynch... I went over his posts and I see no reason to disbelieve his claim, and I think he's been spot on with Saf and Jonty. After work tonight I'll re-read, but for right now I'm actually entertaining Squirrel as the most suspicious. However, I don't have my notes in front of me atm.

I feel like it has to be him or DJ. I voted DJ because if we're wrong, he is less risky. Although I do think that Mr. Squirrel's claim is much less believable.

Is there any way I could possibly make my claim seem believable? I already told you that I would've presented the claim a bit better, but clever did it and I can't do anything about it. I'm trying my best not to get killed and not have the town kill itself, but there's not much else I can do.

In regards to my extremely belated post on dj, I'm unsure of what to do. It all becomes very WIFOMy when I look back at the posts he used his powers on. He basically caught saf during his second use of his power, but he might have done that just to get the trust of the town. Its very hard to say.
dj wrote:We have two claims stating that Safari and Clever are town.

This is the statement that he supposedly got a lie on.
vodean wrote:ok so as it now stands it seems like everywhere and/or MS are scum.

And this one was the truth.

Now he says that the second quote is invalid because of the word "seems". Yet looking at the first quote, that statement wasn't exact either. If the mod was being super technical (as dj is implying by the second quote), then the first statement should have come up as true. Technically, there were two claims that those two were town. Unless the mod is wrong in either case, there's no reason why the two should not have come up as true.

All of this said, I don't want to push the lynch. Frankly, you guys have pushed me into a corner here. If I don't contribute and help you guys, I'll get lynched (and town will be screwed). At the same time, if I'm wrong with any of my cases I will be immediately targeted and killed (and town will again be screwed). So unless I'm absolutely positive on one of my cases I will not vote or push the lynch. I will present you guys the information I have, but my role forbids me from sticking my neck out whatsoever.

You guys might want to lynch me just because of that last paragraph. But before you do, just look at the situation I'm in. I inherited a terrible role from someone who put me in a difficult position. My role will almost guarantee a scum victory if it is lynched. This puts a ton of responsibility into my hands to stay alive, and the way I'm playing now is (in my opinion) the only way I can.

Not really.

Consider the parable of the man with the splinter in his eye. Right now you have a gigantic WIFOM log in your eye. I really wouldn't bring up WIFOM in your position.

Boo hoo? You're a serious liability if you're telling the truth and in bad shape anyway if you're stuck in a lie. Either way, the longer you're alive, the more hurt town is going to get worrying over you.

And no one is denying you got screwed here, you most certainly did. It's just all the pontificating that you're throwing really has me thinking: those are massive statements. Can a game really hinge on a solitary player like this? It violates a lot of principles, enough so that I don't think it's true.

I concur. My situation is worse. But would you rather I just sit here and not provide a comment on the only other case we've got?

1) Are you saying that lynching me (and losing 2-3 townies in addition) is better than keeping me alive? Alive, I am basically a bulletproof townie. Dead, I screw town over.
2) Pontificating? I'm not so sure about that. I'm merely exercising Aristotle's appeals. When my situation makes it impossible for me to appeal to logos, I try for pathos. And using ethos will just get me OMGUS'd.

Since there has been confusion on what had happened here is everything that I did with my role to clarifiy it

1st use) Page 14, Made Vodean say "I am Town" Checked that they were telling the truth

2nd use) Made my own statement staying as vanilla as possible and stating that Safari and Clever are town. I was lying. Based on this either safari and clever were scum or just one. Safari was scum.

3rd Use) This one I messed up on and didnt fine tooth comb it. The statement was:
vodean wrote:
ok so as it now stands it seems like everywhere and/or MS are scum. perhaps the last two. if we lynch one, i think thor might be convinced to vig the other. or does anyone have another case to present?

This came back as truthful

I didnt think anything of it but was clarified that how it was worded that it may not be as truthful as I think it is. It still may be truthful and MS could be scum but I wanted to let everyone know that I received a warning and was trying to help out.

2/3 statements have been verified truthful. We could lynch MS to test the third but that also brings up what may occur if they are telling the truth.

I believe that I should be proven to be who I say I am.

I am worried about Mr. S as well but if my statement does hold water he may be scum. I understand why alot of people are skeptical of voting him as I am just based on the claim.

The statement about when clever was gone and no kill occured is a interesting point though. If we have a roleblocker and they think they may have stopped it, I would speak up to help us out here cause Mr. S is looking bad

Considering the explanations he's now given, killing him is a moot point. While he no longer incriminates you, there's still the matter of your role being batshit insane. Seeing as great responsibility doesn't seem to come with great power, all that makes you is a huge liability.

1a. That assumes clever was telling the truth (which, again, is pure WIFOM)
1b. Yes, I am saying that. WCS, the game ends and we can move on. BCS, you're scum and we win. Somewhere in the middle, we get a lylo scenario. It's much easier to find the truth when it's A, B, C, or D as opposed to going all the way to G.
2. That may be, but my point still remains. Suppose it was you in these shoes from the start. Naturally, you're a target N1. We have an extra night and the scum say "Oh, how lucky". Serendipity is a funny thing.

Well, since we have a way to minimize potential damage, may as well get the case out of the way before lynch or lose is possible.
