I was playing and the site kept going down and when I got back in - in the early hours, there was a newly designed home page and it said something like "Play with 600,000 players" and then the site went down again and it was gone.
Maybe it was somebody else's dream - did anyone else see it?

I didn't dream it - I just saw it again - and I know I'm not dreaming now.
I've just hooked up a new computer and entered the site via google - and it's there - at the bottom of the page.

That statement has been there for quite some time. I think since when Big Wham took over, perhaps before? It's a statement of approximately how many people have ever signed up for the site, regardless of their current activity. It includes those people that sign up, linger for a minute, then never return. It's a huge misrepresentation that may turn people off of the site once they register and realize that there are only 7000 active members (and falling) as apposed to over the half a million that are advertised on the main page.

The good ole boy system is for all the high rankers to eliminate lower ranks as not to lose points, therefore making it virtually impossible to gain rank for new players.

I don't see CC lasting another 10 years. With lazy ownership comes a failed business. That's true in any business that is out there. Not just antiquated websites.

How would the owner spending time shitposting in the forums instead of developing be so beneficial? You think that because the admin starts posting in the forums that loads of new members will join and/or return?Beast Of Burson wrote:I personally don't play multiple player games with more than 4 players because I don't want to wait a fucking month to play 1 turn.

Typical conspiracy theory from a bad player. If you join escalating games of 8+ players with a table that isn't stupid, you'll find nobody makes kills until it's for the win.Beast Of Burson wrote:The C&A reports:... LMAO. Most of the time people just "fix" the report. It's rare that every person who makes a report becomes the subject of trash talk.Beast Of Burson wrote:They way you fuckheads argue and act stupid towards each other in the forums isn't gonna help either. How often do you see volunteers pushing free players to upgrade? Please provide evidence. Premium itself is very cheap, especially compared to costs of other online games. It's rather atypical for non-purchasing users to have less available to them than those who do pay. Online games nowadays often have extras that you have to pay for individually; thankfully, CC does not.Beast Of Burson wrote:The biggest thing is.... the owner NOT being involved in discussions. The current owner posted announcements in the Dispatch and tried to keep the general forum community updated on what he was working on and what we could expect. As a result he received a load of smack talk, criticism and suchlike, so he decided to focus his time on development instead.
If this place is really so bad why are you still here? You'll be talking about premium dice next.

The top review sounds like it was written by someone as dense as you. As for the 13yo story, I would want proof. I don't believe such a thing was ever brought to the forums, so I doubt it's valid.

The alleged 13-year old was a long-time member who played some 6000 games but never seemed to rise in rank. Her/his/its main activity seemed to be flirting in chat. Her/his/its avatar was a porn star (it's been changed since), and he/she/it posted sexually explicit conversations in chat, so naturally enough the single guys on the site flirted with her(?). Since people on this site don't have to produce their passport, one can never be sure what someone's age or gender was, but the people who looked into these allegations were pretty sure it was not really a girl, but a guy trolling.
Then some dude with some Japanese handle, Ninja something or Samurai something, started a shitstorm claiming that it was his 13-year old daughter and demanding that we prosecute some guy who flirted with her. The story kept changing whether she was his niece or his daughter, which is another reason to believe it's all BS.
The whole thing is a tempest in a teapot. We don't release real names on this site, so members have no way to verify each other's genders or ages. Therefore, some person on the Internet, who may or may not have been a guy, flirted with some other person on the Internet, who may or may not have been a girl. For all we know, they were both guys, or they were both girls, or they were both androids.
If there was any validity to the claim, the aggrieved party could have brought it to the police, who could have procured a warrant for CC's records. (At the time, CC was still Canadian, and Canadian law is very strong on this subject.) The fact that no police investigation was ever initiated is a third reason to believe it's all a bunch of crap.
