2012-06-21 01:35:44 - dementia13: As soon as people start cashing... any minute now... this entire house of cards is going to come crashing down. Escalating spoils are no fun. Completely saps the strategy... or, rather, the only strategy is, how do I time my cash-in properly. Not fun.
2012-06-21 22:16:37 - dementia13: ha ha ha, oh shit, I totally just cashed without paying attention - in a conversation and saw I had a cash and forgot the rules of this game.
2012-06-21 22:16:42 - dementia13: oh well, here it comes. Good luck all.
2012-06-22 01:26:18 - Dukasaur: It's about more than when to cash
2012-06-22 01:26:52 - Dukasaur: It's also about positioning yourself so you have a clear shot at everywhere you need to go...:)
2012-06-22 21:12:27 - dementia13: That's only true to a certain extent - it doesn't really stand when, as Green just proved, you go from cashing for 15 to cashing for 35 in one turn - doesn't matter how you're positioned, you've won. It becomes a game of delaying how long to cash
2012-06-22 21:13:03 - dementia13: Last guy to start the snowball rolling wins. I just don't think it's great where you can be in a game, as I just was, where I was in a very good spot - partly due to strategy and partly due to luck - I was probably the #1 player on the board
2012-06-22 21:13:10 - dementia13: and yet I lost the whole game in one turn without having a chance to respond.
2012-06-22 21:13:34 - dementia13: I don't mean to be offensive or rude, it's just I can't see the strategy or fun in an escalating spoils game. Especially with this many players.
2012-06-22 21:13:47 - dementia13: nevertheless, I appreciate what you're doing for the tournament, I've had fun with it so far, and hope you continue. So thanks!
2012-06-23 00:07:52 - Dukasaur: I understand your points
2012-06-23 00:08:12 - Dukasaur: Anyway, you have one more escalating game to play, and then Phase 5 will be Flat Rate
2012-06-23 03:38:08 - Dukasaur: Sorry, correction
2012-06-23 03:38:16 - Dukasaur: 2 more escalating games
2012-06-23 03:38:28 - Dukasaur: and the Phase 5 will be flat rate
2012-06-23 16:37:36 - dementia13: Thanks for the update - all the best everyone
