Standard |
In a standard game each player fends for himself and there is only one winner. |
|
Automatic |
Regions are randomly distributed at the start of the game and each region starts with three troops. |
|
Sequential |
A player is selected at random to go first and then subsequent players follow in turn. During a team game the play order alternates between the teams. |
|
Escalating |
At the end of your turn if you have conquered at least one region you get 'spoils.' Once you have three of the same color (or three different) these can be traded in at the start of your turn for bonus troops. Escalating Spoils indicates that each set traded in will be worth more than the previous. The first set is worth 4 bonus troops. Then 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 etc. If you own any of the regions that you trade in you get two bonus troops on those regions. |
|
Unlimited |
At the end of your turn you can reinforce as many times as you like between regions that are connected. |
|
No |
Fog of War masks enemy positions that are not adjacent to your forces (or your team's forces). It also masks region and zone names in the log |
|
No |
You can only assault from regions held since the start of your turn. If you conquer a region during your turn you cannot assault from it until your next turn. |

2014-02-22 22:09:47 - rjhankey: turn 2 -- looking for a spoil, 1 on Bogota and 2 on Berlin, soft attacking Moscow
2014-02-22 22:11:07 - rjhankey: adv all, thinking that maybe I can move that stack south and maybe bring Edmonton over to help cover Europe
2014-02-23 10:22:58 - General Roy: celliotti - I would not call you a bm when the original drop gives you 3 of the areas in Australia. I think it makes perfect sense to go for the bonus in that case.
2014-02-23 10:23:30 - General Roy: In addition you have after all put your stack so that you can move it out when the time comes.
2014-02-23 13:49:47 - tamaynet: Well we can still call him a bonus monkey if we want to, can't we?
2014-02-23 17:17:01 - General Roy: Of course, you can. We can also call USA England if we want to, but it may lead to misunderstandings.
2014-02-23 20:47:25 - tamaynet: Good one!
2014-02-24 22:45:43 - celliottii: USA isn't England??? Then why are my neighbors alcoholics with bad teeth???
2014-02-24 22:46:02 - celliottii: oh wait...they're trailer trash...I forgot...
2014-02-25 16:25:05 - rjhankey: just don't call the USA ... Canada ;-)
2014-02-25 16:28:01 - rjhankey: this turn -- dropped on Edmonton, Bogota, Moscow to maintain stacks -- grabbed spoil @ Chicago and built a stack there
2014-02-25 16:28:17 - rjhankey: I don't have a presence in Africa, but hopefully can remedy that down the road
2014-02-25 20:08:15 - General Roy: Experience shows that NA is a much more important area than Afric anyway, so I don't think you have much to fear in that regard.
2014-02-27 10:00:19 - rjhankey: drop -- 1 Magadan, 1 Bogota, 1 Moscow -- soft attack Berlin from Moscow, LA from Chicago if that doesn't work
2014-03-01 02:43:21 - rjhankey: drop - 1 Magadan, 1 Moscow, 1 Chicago -- soft attack Edmonton -- will get real interesting when first sets start coming
2014-03-01 02:45:06 - rjhankey: looking at possible targets I can reach -- most are tucked behind another color -- green is tempting, but has the 4-stack on Mumbai protected at the moment
2014-03-02 08:13:41 - Koganosi: FEw games ago, dhall was in it, I had the ultimate bonus monkey drop!!! 3 out of 4 terros in SA and Ozz, only took 1 though since someguy kept dropping in it!
2014-03-03 02:48:23 - rjhankey: I think practically dropping both SA & Oz would give me too much stress to make me thing I needed to win the thing ... ;-)
2014-03-03 02:49:07 - rjhankey: I'm now in that familiar "no man's land" ... holding a set with 4 cards, and paralyzed trying to decide to cash now (I'm not in any danger of being eliminated)
2014-03-03 02:49:23 - rjhankey: or move to 5 cards, and be blessed with the forced cash next turn
2014-03-03 02:51:07 - rjhankey: I still don't have a good target in mind yet who isn't protected by someone else
2014-03-03 02:51:56 - rjhankey: so, I'll hold off on cashing ... drop 2 on Bogota, 1 on Moscow -- attack Sao Paulo and see if I can shift around a bit
2014-03-03 02:52:30 - rjhankey: had perfect dice, so moving into Sao Paulo was an easy decision
2014-03-03 02:53:22 - rjhankey: I am curious to hear opinion's about the 4-card set cash ... what's your experience been? I know there aren't any hard and fast rules there ... ?
2014-03-03 02:55:21 - rjhankey: opinions that is, not sure how the apostrophe worked its way in there!!
2014-03-03 15:12:51 - General Roy: In escalating games I would normally wait as long as possible to ensure I don't give more troops to the next who cashes than necessary.
2014-03-03 15:13:20 - General Roy: But if I feel I am about to be eliminated,I would probably cash anyway just to save myself.
2014-03-03 20:01:03 - Koganosi: What general says
2014-03-03 20:01:12 - Koganosi: If there is a high chance I might get killed I cash it
2014-03-03 21:08:10 - celliottii: ditto on what the General and Kognasi said...
2014-03-03 23:04:38 - rjhankey: that's what I kind of figured -- didn't know if that would backfire in this case since I'd be in the same shoes this turn with 5 cards anyway, and nobody else had to cash last turn
2014-03-03 23:05:10 - rjhankey: the benefit is going to be though that I'll be up to 3 cards and quickly 4 ... provided I live through the slew of everyone else cashing with their 5 (or 4)
2014-03-03 23:08:07 - rjhankey: this turn -- cashed, deploy 3 Magadan, 2 Moscow, 2 Chicago -- get an easy spoil from Moscow
2014-03-03 23:08:29 - rjhankey: still thinking blue is potentially a target I have the most access to
2014-03-04 17:05:34 - tamaynet: Pay no attention to the low number of green troops. keep focusing on blue...lol
2014-03-04 17:10:23 - General Roy: ... or the fairly low number of blue troops. :)
2014-03-05 14:08:28 - rjhankey: my trouble with green ... Mumbai is hidden behind blue/yellow/purple ... witih blue I still have to split troops to get Reykjavik
2014-03-05 14:09:29 - rjhankey: this turn, deploy 1 on Sao Paulo, 2 on Moscow -- using Anchorage to get my spoil
2014-03-07 09:19:55 - rjhankey: cashed -- I wasn't sure if purple might have a 3-card set, and actually stood a chance of reaching all of my terits ... yeah, it's paranoia, but just in case
2014-03-07 09:20:08 - rjhankey: spread my deploy around on my stacks -- and took the easy spoil @ Stockholm
2014-03-07 09:20:33 - rjhankey: still not sure how to reach blue/green, since blue is protected from me @ Bangkok and green @ Mumbai
2014-03-07 09:20:41 - rjhankey: we'll have to see how the next few turns play out
2014-03-08 12:43:17 - Koganosi: gg tamaynet
2014-03-08 22:46:18 - rjhankey: just treading water waiting for the next set -- spread my deploy around, attacked Lima for my spoil to keep my lanes of attack open everywhere else
2014-03-09 23:58:49 - celliottii: gg, Koganosi...
2014-03-09 23:59:03 - celliottii: gg, RJ...
2014-03-09 23:59:11 - celliottii: gg, JJ...
2014-03-09 23:59:53 - celliottii: gg, General...
2014-03-10 00:01:50 - celliottii: RJ has my vote for graduation...he exhibited thinking out his moves and strategy...
2014-03-10 02:43:32 - rjhankey: gg !
