viewtopic.php?f=89&t=174869 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... E&hl=en_US Tournament Player's Association (TPA) Introducing the Tournament Player's Association (TPA). Loosely following the lead of the PGA and WTA sport tours the TPA is CCs first league for tournament players. Each week will feature a new TPA sanctioned tournament across a variety of game styles. We'll have team, assassin, 1v1, terminator, no spoil, escalating, fog, sunny and even mixed tournaments over the course of the year. Like the PGA and WTA there will also be 4 Majors (1 team, 1 1v1, 1 singles (4-8 player) and 1 assassin).
Scoring show: updated for Year 2
In an effort to make the TPA less all-consuming we've revamped the scoring for year 2. As with Year 1 there will be 52 events that you can enter, however, unlike Year 1, you won't really need to enter all 52 to score well. Here's how we're going to work it. There will be 4 major events (one each quarter). These are the Grand Slam events of the TPA and as such, any serious contender should join them. Each of these will count for your scores There will be 16 Premier events. (four each quarter). Your best 8 scores in the Premier events will count on the TPA scoreboard. (you may enter more or less but only the top 8 scores will count. Finally there will be 32 Regular events. Your best 16 Regular tournament scores will count on the TPA scoreboard. Thus, there are a maximum of 28 tournaments counting on your TPA scoreboard. For TPA scoring we're going to weight the scoring towards those tournaments that are more involved, particularly the majors. To that end, dowian2 has developed a score chart that we will be using this year as follows: 1 / 2000 / 1000 / 500 2 / 1200 / 600 / 300 3 / 840 / 420 / 210 4 / 600 / 300 / 150 5 / 480 / 240 / 120 6 / 390 / 195 / 95 7 / 315 / 155 / 80 8 / 255 / 130 / 65 9 / 235 / 115 / 60 10 / 215 / 110 / 55 11 / 200 / 100 / 50 12 / 185 / 90 / 45 13 / 170 / 85 / 40 14 / 155 / 80 / 40 15 / 145 / 75 / 35 16 / 135 / 65 / 35 17 / 125 / 65 / 30 18 / 120 / 60 / 30 19 / 115 / 60 / 30 20 / 110 / 55 / 30 21 / 105 / 55 / 25 22 / 100 / 50 / 25 23 / 95 / 50 / 25 24 / 90 / 45 / 25 25 / 90 / 45 / 20 26 / 85 / 40 / 20 27 / 80 / 40 / 20 28 / 75 / 35 / 20 29 / 70 / 35 / 15 30 / 65 / 30 / 15 31 / 60 / 30 / 15 32 / 55 / 25 / 15 33+ / 50 / 25 / 10 Thus, participation in a major event will garner a player a minimum of 50 points while winning one will be 2000 points. That 50 point level is reached in a Premier event by finishing 23rd or better and in a standard event by reaching the top 11.

Sanctioning show
To be sanctioned as a TPA event, tournaments must1). Follow all CC tournament requirements 2). Have no point restrictions (although it may require a premium membership) 3). Have an organizer who has successfully run previous CC tournaments, is committed to running this one through and has not been replaced as a TO for any touranment during the preceding 12 months. 4). Allow for at least 30 players (singles/doubles) or 8 teams (triples/quad) 5). TO agrees not to send to any sort of "list" for the first 48 hours of sign ups to allow all players fair entry 6). TOs agree that for all sanctioned events that players will be accepted in the order in which they sign up regardless of all banned lists that a particular TO may have.
Joining the Tournaments show
There will be 52 TPA events through the year, one per week. Players do not have to join all 52 and indeed, may not be able to. It is expected that some of them will contain fewer players than everyone who is participating in the TPA. Not all TPA players will be guaranteed a slot in any tournament but must sign up in the usual manner. There will be an effort made, however, to ensure that ensure that there are enough of the larger tournaments also involved and many TOs are expanding upon some of their existing franchises to allow more players to participate.
Exemptions and Reserves show
TOs are allowed to offer exemptions (reserve a slot)for up to 5% of the slots, so a 30 player tournament could offer 2 exemptions, a 50 player would be 3, a 70 player tournament would be 4 etc. Team tournaments have one exemption per 16 teams (so with 8-16 teams there is 1 exemption, 17-31 would be 2 etc). If the organizer joins their own tournament, it is counted as one of the exemptions. Exemptions may be used only for players who have won a previous TPA event or another tournament of the same type by the same organizer that was not a TPA event. All spots not reserved for an exemption must be open for sign ups. Winners of Year 1 majors will automatically receive an invite into the year two event of the same style provided the Year 1 event is completed in time.
