Comments: Because porkenbeans does not agree with the development of this map:http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... &start=165 he has resorted to flaming and trolling. He is attacking the mapmaker, isaiah40, and other members that show support for this map and is being a nuisance in general.

The map itself is kind of bait for this sort of response. Can't say that I think what he said was appropriate, but he's offered excellent suggestions in threads for other maps from what I've seen.

It may well be a valid map, but it's clearly trying to make a point that's dear to certain political factions at the moment. He does have some points, even though his anger is kind of disproportionate. The map does really go for a whole load of political points- California is now Muslim, Democrats are now Socialists, Florida is now Cuba, etc. You'd get a similar response if you posted something now where the central states were all KKK, trailer trash, or Nazis.

That said, he's pissed off a few people in the foundry before. A quick look says that the reactions were far out of synch with anything he said previously.

Seems like he just needs to calm down, and that others need to stop accusing him of trolling whenever he posts:

sorry, i agree with him. if you look at the map, you demonize the areas that carried obama into the presidency. it is tacky, tasteless and should not be allowed. i can not believe someone in the foundry, i.e.-andy, has not stepped in and halted this bigoted map! i made an early suggestion in the thread, before it was apparent what the map maker intended and before any image was presented. thank you for attempting to throw Pork under the bus, you have just shed light on the lunacy currently going on with your thread within the foundry. this map should be stopped.

Congratualtions! you just exercised your 1st amendment right to free speech! Look brother, If you want to make a political map, that is cool, but use the parties real names, and or affiliations. I'm not sure why you removed all of the context Kotaro, but I'll add it. Porkenbeans posted a comment suggesting that the map could be lighter, along with some examples that he'd gone out of the way to make himself, this is the response that Danyael (the mapmaker) supplied:

That's fair enough, I just wanted to point out that the man is as much flamed against as flamed. It looks like there're a number of issues here.

I'll just say that the guy doesn't need to be punished for being over-passionate about map making. He's certainly no troll. If anything, he comes off as over-sincere and over-enthusiastic. I've not found a post by him that didn't show a sincere desire to improve the map discussed.

Still, I think he should have restrained that passion when someone suggested a map like that. Mind if I make a turtle soup topic about it? Might be a better place for the kind of debate it asks for without dumping stuff in the foundry.

It sure looks like a good - playable quality map. Forgive someone for using there imagination in picking names for a GAME.

A "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to provoke people to respond. The Forum Troll delights in sowing discord within a forum. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is deliberately controvertial, baiting and pulling people into a "flaming" discussion. Flaming discussions usually end with name calling, a flame war and at best a locked thread or in extreme cases a deleted thread.
My opinion Of porkenbeans is hes a Troll because over the past few months his post in the foundry have fit this description.

When a map maker does not think one of his suggestions, opinons are something they would like incorporated into there map because its not the look they are going for or for what ever reason
He has resorted to whining, flaming, off topic posting, and baiting the map maker and people that side with the map maker (has even done this to certain Foundry assistants)

As his comments and suggestions may have been helpful in some maps in the past and present but usually do little to help progress the map though the foundry and alot of the time cloud actual game play and clarity issues

Before he posted in my topic I already had him foed as I was beginning to take blatant flame baits causing me to be on the verge of flaming and baiting myself
So I decided that its better to just simply ignore him. Which I belive is better then lowering myself any further and end up being a troll myself and ending up going down a path I did not want to take because living under a bridge isn't fun

Since he did post in my topic I thought I should give me a second chance and display the post.
Unfortunately his suggestion totally was uncalled for as i clearly posted in my reply
as further down in the discussion i agree some things need to be a little brighter for clarity and game-play reasons shows I'm very open to any suggestions and improvements for valid reasons not just because its what someone taste or opinion thinks it should be

I did not want my topic to end up becoming a flame fest or off topic so I blatantly told him off sure I was not kind but i saw no reason to pussy foot around this as I'm not that kind of person

Porkenbeans as clearly broke the rules in the fractured America topic and should be punished accordingly. The map may have certain issues but to resort to name calling belittling a person and attacking them based on there religious beliefs. This crosses a big line and should no way be tolerated

everyone has a right to there opinion but by no way should resort too this behavior while expressing it.

There's a couple problems with your theory. One, Iowa went to Obama and it is in the Republican Party continent. I'm pretty sure the Dakotas went to McCain and Minnesota went to Obama, but they both are on the same continent. Colorado went to Obama and it is in a continent that is completely Republican. Okay, one problem I do have is the Islamic states, where did that come from? I may be wrong, but I think the largest Muslim population in America is somewhere in Michigan.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with this map. I've thought many times that if the U.S. broke apart, where would the new political boundaries would be drawn. And for the most part, besides the invasions from Canada, Mexico, and Cuba, I've agreed with the map creator.

I have no opinion on the map or it's content and politically I will keep my opinion to myself but will address Porky's comments unlike Owen's constant reminder of users to stay on topic, and not quite sure of how his content is related to C&A but that's owens double standard. Any opportunity to squeeze in his lopsided views. There should be immediate action to what porky said... terrorism is serious business and should not be flung around needlessly or carelessly. If anyone said 1/100 of that kind of statement to the all black powerful owen, he would've had sent 100 pms and started a 1000 threads citing racism-- racist.... bigotry.. or whatever.

People keep quoting Dan's map as an excuse for what parka does, which was blatant trolling and flaming. It is not an excuse - he didn't like it, so he trolled. When he was informed he was foe'd, he flamed. If he didn't like the map, or if Owen doesn't like the map, they should go make their own and learn not to flame.

Gee, I think I opened a can of roaches In all seriousness now this map is a "what if" in the future US. It in no ways reflects my personal political/religious views. As I suggested, and it was brought up either here or in the other thread, I was willing to change the name of Islamic States to Sierra Club (or something similar since I can't use their name). I am also willing to change the other three names to something similar. All that had to happen was a suggestion to be made. No one had to start calling each other names (besides I consider that a little childish) and/or swearing as porkenbeans did to me. No one knows what will happen to the political parties or religious groups in 50 years. Funny thing is, they say I am prejudice and intolerant, just look at what they posted, enough said!

So since I said I was willing to change names, and porkenbeans continued trolling, some where in agreement with me to change names, I'll do it. No problems.

P.S. The map that owens keeps posting was one of my earlier versions and NOT the current version. I have a new version but Mr.Benn locked it before I could get it posted. That version has name changes on it, and no one will argue with those name, then again maybe pork with have a problem with barbarians!
