Favorite "Large" maps

Postby Hannibał on Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:06 pm

As with my last thread on smaller maps, I was wondering what everyones favorite "Large" maps were?

Definitely Kings Court right now, but that's conquest so I'm not sure that it counts. If it doesn't, let's just say WWI Europe :)

Moved to GD from Q&A, btw.

Waterloo is one of my favorites regardless of size, so many different ways to win and strategize that map. I also seem to do well on Battle of Actium, though I really dont know the map that well...

I'm curious to know how GD is not the proper forum to discuss one's taste in maps.

Seems to me to be the correct one.

Agreed

Not what I would call a large map

Not exactly sure what qualifies as "large," but I'll do my best:

1: Rail Europe
2: Supermax
3: Napoleonic Europe
4: Forbidden City
5: Bamboo Jack
6: D-Day
7: Conquer Man
8: Cricket
9: World 2.1
10: Tie between Waterloo and Stalingrad, although I could use more work on both

I think I usually stray away from large maps, but if I had to choose, it'd probably by World 2.1 I think.

STALINGRAD is a great large map. Napoleon Europe really rocks too.

1st Nations NA is fun with out having to think so much.

You must really have an issue with this if you feel the need to post it twice.

BOB can make any map easy.

Take 10 or 15 minutes to sit down and:
1) Study the bonuses using Text Map.
2) Use your cursor to hover over territories and find out what they border, bombard, what bombards them, any 1-way attacks, etc.

Easy rules to keep in mind:
1) When possible, bombard (unless going for a bonus, breaking a bonus, or going for an elim).
2) Don't leave 1s on terts that can be bombarded.
