I will probably be taking a break from conquer club mid September to deal with some health issues, so best I drop out of this tourney after this round, no new games. It's been fun, thanks a lot for all you have done

At some point we'll have to declare a stalemate-breaking rule of some kind. I hope it doesn't come down to that, though. There's still hope that someone there will break out.

Anyway, congrats on your game.

Keep in mind that in Phase 5B, as in 5A, diplomacy is explicity permitted.

Amen! Yet he still finds time to just enjoy a game with the little people here and there. And I've really enjoyed the ones I've been lucky enough to be in. You truly are an inspiration, Duk.

Remo has won the tournament.

As far as I know the GA is still a possibility for your, but my spreadsheets are at home so I won't be able to verify for a couple days. But in my memory anyway, you were still in contention for the GA.

Dukapoints as they stand right now, with that last game left to finish:

Kingm 8.752651198
Leehar 8.169752761

If you fail to win that last game, Kingm gets the GA medal. If you do win that last game, you have an excellent chance of still collecting it, provided that your final troop count is reasonably close to the optimum.

None of the other guys still alive in your game has a chance of winning anything. (Besides you, the only person in that game who had been in contention was Shai, but now that he's been eliminated his last hope is gone.) Not sure if that fact will help to break up the stalemate or not.

Thanks. I doubt it'll make a difference since the others don't seem to be very obliging, but we can remain hopeful.

I'm on tenterhooks right now!
Game 11710992 is complete

My rough calculations just give me over .657 more to my score? (98troops for me vs 73 troops for you? it was more than double 25 rounds, so the round score is 0?)

Do I get the GA medal by the slimmest margin of .07?!

[-o<

Who would think I'd have wanted to be "the most Dukasaurish non-Dukasaur." so badly! :)

wow, I'm still doing some more calculations of my own, and if I did cash my mixed set this last turn(which I had) rather than playing it safe and only playing a red set, I may have missed out on the GA?
And who would think I may actually have to thank my opponent for breaking me last turn and not letting me deploy 7 more troops!

I actually thought I had more of a safety net but didn't realise the number of rounds wouldn't give me any points

Actually, it's better than that. You have 92 troops, not 98, so you gain .7397 just on troops, none for the rounds of course, and another 0.5 for the use of diplomacy (the specifications were only that you "use" diplomacy, not that it needs to be stunningly successful) for a final total of 1.239726027 Dukapoints this round, and 9.409478788 Dukapoints total, winning the GA by a very comfortable margin.

Of course you want to be the most Dukasaurish non-Dukasaur. Can't get any better than that! :D  :ugeek:

Okay, final roundup:
show: final scores alphabetically by player

show: final scores by regular points

show: final scores by Dukapoints

Congratulations Remo Williams for winning the tournament!!!

=D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Congratulations Leehar for winning the GA and being crowned Most Dukasaurish non-Dukasaur!

=D> =D> =D>

Congratulations to Kingm, who placed second both in regular points and in Dukapoints, and also qualifies for a prize!

=D>

Congratulationt to IanPhull, who very narrowly edged out Fewnix for third place and also qualifies for a prize!

=D>

Honourable mention to Fewnix, who came oh! so very close to third place, even after needing to drop out of the tournament for medical reasons. Well done!

=D>

Congratulations to everyone who overcame their distrust of some of the settings used and had a good tournament after all. (I'm looking at SirSebstar, who so dreaded the freestyle game and ended up winning it!)

=D>

Thank you everyone for participating and making this a tournament to remember.

Nice work Dukasaur =D> , very well-run tournament and I liked the idea of the Second Chance pool--it kept the tourney alive. Only wish I could have made it further.
