I have volunteered to rescue this tournament. In actual fact, it is basically over, so the only thing that remained for me was to verify the score and present it.
First of all, I would like to thank
WorldCup4James for carrying us this far with a creative tournament, professionally run and very beautifully presented. It's unfortunate that you had to leave us, and we hope you'll be back one day. In the meantime, a big "Thank you!" for all you have done.
I have gone through and verified all of James' scoreboards. There were a couple of very minor 1 point mistakes, but nothing that would change the outcome, especially at the top of the scoreboard, which is after all, what most people are worried about.
My findings are here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ap9tZNjRXkJydDE2Y2I5OW8yRUd6U0RleFVYQVBFcGc&usp=sharingUnfortunately I don't have James' graphical talents, so you will have to be content with a simple and prosaic spreadsheet.
At the top of the spreadsheet, we have Bonobo with 11 points, co-co with 10, and myself with 8. Co-co and myself have no further games to play, and therefore have no hope of overtaking Bonobo. In theory, Namliam has four more games to play, but the most points he could gain would be 4, which would bring him to a grand total of 8, and it seems expressly silly to play four more games just for a chance to end up in a tie for 3rd place.
Therefore, I pronounce
Bonobo the victor on the field! The greatest statesman of the 21st century!
Congratulations BONOBO!!!!! ... and although I lack James' talent with graphics, I feel I would be remiss if I didn't leave you with at least one attempt at presenting the tournament results in graphical form:
