It has recently come to my attention that Doom is planning a coup in Costa Rica.
Now, Costa Rica has been democratic since before 1950, so Doom's coup will have to involve a relatively high degree of violence as to overcome the inevitable public dissent. He will also likely have to kill most current major political figures so that movements cannot form around them.
This gives us a golden opportunity to let Doom do the heavy lifting and then, with a surgical countercoup take him and his generals out and "restore peace". If we play this right we will be viewed as saviours ending Doom's bloody reign (the fact that his name is actually "Doom" is also a huge stroke of luck and will prove invaluable for propaganda purposes).
After the countercoup, we will of course have to fix the state of anarchy that Doom has left the country in and therefore we will have to "temporarily" grant ourselves extraordinary executive and judicial powers.
