Speed auto tournament joke prizes

what's up with that??

do we really want to play and win one of these just for a stupid orange star? the crap you can get by scratching your rectum or just joining a game? The requirements are the same than joining a community based tournaments, why don't we get a tournament achievement by winning one of these tournaments instead of a useless orange star?
Last week end there were some tournament achievement prizes for auto tournament winners. Is this something tha will happen only on week ends, or will it not happen ever again?

so i haven't seen any auto tournament this week end with tournament medal prizes like last week end. still all this crap with a useless orange star as prize for the winner.

what is the logic behind this? why give such shitty prizes to win an auto tournament? there are 3 queuing right now and the interest for them seems to be declining.

My understanding is that prizes will vary all the time, so why play for a crumby orange or red star? Some stars or inventory items may only be available by playing in tournaments and may be needed to join other tournaments with bigger prizes.

They are the ones changing everything, 10 days ago i saw that speed auto tourneys were giving tourney medals (which seems logic) and now you don t get shit (don t tell me an orange medal is a prize of any sort! You can get better just by joining any given game)

@ teegee; sorry meant speed auto tourneys. They are just going to queue more and more, they lag as hell and there is no prize. At least give a rare star for winning it i don t know.. You say "red or orange" the red is valuable as ultra rare so it could be worth it, but the orange is complete shit. No one cares about orange stars.

i didn't win any, but I don't feel like joining any as long as there is no incentive to win them!

you can just go create the same thing in community based tournaments and actually win a tourney medal. why bother?
This is like someone offering you 2 cents to maw his lawn and the next door neighbour offering you 50 dollars for the same thing. seriously... what is it about? has this been thought through for a minute? I'm curious.

i will find out about the medals, sounds like something has gone wrong to me, a medal should be awarded for a tournament win.

It was not the case at first, then it was done during a day or 2 a week ago, after that back to no medal. Just look at the speed auto tournaments... They are are not filling in anymore. I don t know if they don t end up disapearing.

Lack of prize can be a reason, and lag. If these games lag so much, at least don t make them 1 minute!

I agree with betiko,

- auto speeds don't fill up.

=> to many players needed otfthen
=> to many freestyle to my opinion
=> low prize offers for speed tourneys

It is great that they are up now cuz of the auto system,
now i hope to play a speed tourney

That's not true. There are restrictions on what type of tournaments are actually valid in community tournaments. An 8-player single-elimination tournament wouldn't be valid for a medal in community tournaments; why should it award you a tournament achievement medal just because it's an autotournament?

They are 16 player single elimination tourneys minimum, not 8. All the auto tourneys formats are within the community tournament guidelines and would ensure a tournament medal. Maybe I ve missed it, but i never saw those so called 8 player single elimination. You ve just made it up, or you just never check those tourneys.

You are talking about different things here.

-with single elimination bracket games, you need a minimum of 16 indeed, and 4 games to win.
If it s teams, it s 8 teams minimum and 3 games to win
-if it s not single elimination, you can go down to 8 player and have a minimum of 4 rounds to win with different systems.

I haven t looked at all of them, but your tourneys posted all seem legit.

Actually the minimum requirements for community ran tournaments is 16 players minimum with the winner playing at least 3 games...doesn't matter if its single or double elimination.

well maybe i was wrong about this; but this doesn't change my point: what you are showing are the exceptions compilating both speed and none speed auto tournaments.
This thread is only about the speed autotournaments. Maybe you can find 5%-10% that were not held with 16 players minimum; but the case is that the huge majority are 16 players tournaments, within the rules, that give you an orange star for prize (woohooo!!). Even if I was talking about 8 players tournaments, an orange star is absolutely worthless. You get one by joining any game.

I can't speak for other people, but I know I would stop joining them. You are happy to win a tournament, and a cup materialises your win (as in any competition). I'm pretty sure that many people don't care; but medals were created on this site for a reason. It does hook you up and you try to collect them. If by doing something on a section of the site you get a reward, but if you do it on another section of the site you don't; I'd like at least to understand why. The colour of the star awarded is ridiculous. It should be a rare medal you get for winning a tourney, not one of the most common stars, it makes absolutely no sense.

Now apart from the tournament achievement issue; how about a lobby where people could show in real time all the different settings/maps they would like for the tournament?
