please, PLEASE go read the how to play section before you come ask on the forums. It is ALL explained there. EVERYTHING. Lackattack has put some great amount of time designing this site, and he put the answers to all of your questions there. Oh and also of one of your question isn't answered there, search the forum. We get the same questions over and over again many times. I hope you'll have a good time here.

I asked for an answer not a lecture, Why do piain in the ass people like you waste my time with all that look here and look there, I am not an idiot I looked and couldn't find it, so I asked the question, that is what the forum is for and that is why I asked. I know and understand what Lack has done, I have been here longer more than a day. You could simply helped me out, instead of just pissing me off, with you patronizing go look here or go look there, I have actually been a member longer than you. This is the shit that is annoying I have again wasted more time responding to a moron, instead of finding the answer to my original question.

I think getting your armies doubled is ridiculous. It's your own fault if you miss a turn.

I know that this is not the most popular feature, so let me explain the rationale for it.

As you know, Conquer Club as is a casual game that busy people can work into their daily schedule. It is my goal to encourage members to play at least once a day (for the rest of their lives, HAHAHA  )

But real life can get in the way. People write exams, get sick, go on weekend getaways. Even dedicated players can find themselves in a situation where they've missed a couple turns but are not yet auto-kicked. In that situation, I want to encourage you to resume playing the game. If you lost all your armies in a competitive game, you may give up and not play.

There is also an important psychological aspect here for converting newbies into dedicated players. Too often a new recruit joins a game thinking it's real time play, realizes it's not, leaves with no intention of coming back. But he/she gets spammed with anti-deadbeat emails and out of curiosity may return to check on the game. Here we have a second chance to win back a deadbeat. When they get multiple armies and do some damage, I'm hoping the rush will be enough to bring them back to the next habit-forming round.

Now maybe not everyone agrees, but I have no problem playing a game where I know a dormant player may come back and strategizing accordingly. Don't forget, people who miss turns get less cards and if their continent is busted while they're gone, the bonus is lost when they come back.

Wtf... who are you? 1) how could you not find the answer since its everywhere and 2) if you've been there for so long, one would expect you'd have encountered this before. The way you came up and ask it seemed extremely typical of new users. It wasn't a lecture, it was aimed to guide you to be better on the forums. THIS is a lecture moron. Do you think there is a 24/7 team that is paid to follow you and answer your questions and make sure you get everything you need? I was irritated at your post cause it was probably the 3rd or 4th time I see someone ask this. Now I am irritated by your arrogance and dumbness. I don't know what is the thing about me being a liar, but if you have beef with me ereandil, you can shove it! I've tasted your stupidity before, and by no mean am I interested in a second serving. So both of you dumbasses can go f*ck yourselves.

Spicy! : this is a controversial feature, but some people think it is actually a valid strategy to purposely miss a turn to get your armies doubled for a suprise attack.

P.S. hey! look at what I found! Right there at the top of the how to play section:
"I. Deploying Your Armies

At the beginning of every turn you will collect a certain amount of armies. The number of armies you get is determined by this formula:

[(countries ÷ 3, minimum of 3) + continent bonus] x days since last turn + set bonus

Terminology:
"countries" are the total number of countries you occupy.
"continent bonus" are bonus armies you get for occupying all of the countries that make up a continent.
"days since last turn" is the number of days since your last turn.
"set bonus" is the number of armies you get for turning in a set of bonus cards."

P.S.S If you could be bothered to use the search function of the forums, you might have found this in under 30 seconds : http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=301&highlight=rounds

supermarcol is right, if you had any common sense, u could have found the answer to your question. Yet, he was still gracious enough to give you the answer and ideas for finding the answer to questions you may have in the future. And because of you bad attitude, he has every right to be pissed at you now.

Did I miss something?

Ahhhhh, Lack: So, let's say member duggcarr1 misses one day of play. He comes back and gets a minimum of over 300 armies the next time he plays? Just using him as a "for instance" because I am playing him and found that he is trying to play over 50 games. (Nothing against you, duggcarr1, if you have the time to be able to do that. As long as you remain current in games with me, I'll continue to enjoy playing against you. )

You might be right, Lack, in your reasoning to make it so that new players will not get discouraged by implementing this rule not found in real RISK, but instead, couldn't you just buy them a pizza and have it delivered?

Your shot, Lack. I'll try to play with whatever rules you impose. I have to admit that I almost left this site immediately after having been bombed by people that waited a turn for this option, teamed up without an alliance in a standard game, or HELD on a Freestyle Team Game. I'm still recovering from those losses. Lost a few real games, too. Have no problem with that. Most recently lost a game to one of the Aces here, wacicha (congrats to you on that one).

Will be watching with interest to see what gets implemented to make the game fair, enjoyable and easy to play. GREAT JOB so far!
The ground was rushing up at me. It had been one heck of a ride. And suddenly I wondered………

i'm not saying that the rule is good, i disagree with it and Lack has said something is going to be done about it. I was just commenting on monorojo's severe need of an attitude adjustment.

In response to the other thread... The doubling of peices requires more strategy and at times can be an advantage to you if another player all the sudden drops 6 or 9 peices next to a threat of yours...Needless to say if your the threat it sucks. Particularly, if you didn't know about the rule.

Fair rule for sure and GREAT SITE> Thanks for keeping it free. I oughta just send you 20 bills, but if i was to become a premium member I would lose self control and be an addict.

you are a sad, sad man. what can I say. You are of the "I care about nothing people" well fine, be that way, I can't do nothing to you, thats true. you are still a sad, sad man. One day you'll realize, but you'll probably be 47, no hair left, with a wife and kid you hate, a job you hate, a house that stinks that you hate, and I could go on and on, but you wouldn't care so whats the point. My only rejoicing is that your hubris will one day make you realise how miserable you are. It would be very appreciated if you never talked to me again, but I doubt you'd be able to do that.

P.S. A wise internet man once said: "never fight with an idiot, for he'll bring you down to his level and beat you by experience." I forgot that rule once, and I'm not about to do it a second time.

That's my argument for why you should take points from deadbeats. Their motivation should be not to lose points.

24 hours is plenty of time if you're sick, writing a paper, etc. It takes one minute to take your turn.

This all simply started as a question, as to where I could find something I looked and didn’t find what I needed, so as a normal person does, he asks a question. I can’t scour every thing written. In the grand scheme of things, would if have not been easier to simply answer the question? Why send me on a road I was on, and didn’t find it. He wasted more time, talking down to me, then patronizing me, than it would have taken to simply answer a question.

I had looked at what was talked about in reference to the formula; I didn’t understand that that meant getting armies doubled for missing turns.

The thing is I don’t post to post, if you look I don’t post really at all, I am here to play, not chat it up in the forum, I have enough friends already, and I know these things are usually a place for people to talk smack because its the internet and everyone is 7ft tall and 300lbs. And to attack anyone that asks a question someone else doesn’t like or thinks is a dumb question. I have neither the time, inclination nor patience for that.

I have no problem saying that I don’t know alot about the computer or these games, but my knowledge in Law Enforcement is what makes my money, so I guess I'm ok. For future reference feel free--- no feel encouraged to not read, respond, or talk to me in the future if you don’t want to simply help someone out.

Maybe, jsut maybe if you had formulated an actual question like you just did instead of just posting part of the game log, you might have had a more coherent answer. And well it was very easy to find the answer of to your question in previous posts. So you didn't know cause you don't go on the forums, hey, why did you think I told you to go look around... so you can learn maybe? I didn't want this to escalate like this, its due to the stupidity of someone else. But still your attitude could be a bit better. You are asking a question, not giving us money. Some guy once said : give a man a fish and he'll feed himself for a day, teach him how to fish, he'll feed himself for all his life. And you need to understand that the people who do spend some time one the forums get the same questions over and over and over again. Therefore we get irritated. So keep the attitude down, and look before you ask.

Please PLEASE, don't tell me about my attitude, when your post is what it is, you started off acting like an ass to me, then wonder why I responded like I did. You still sound the same in your last post, you sound like you're talking to your kid, I am not your child. any idiot can put a million quotes -Like the only stupid question is the one never asked, or the chinese proverb-One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever. SO dont bother with the silly quote thing. And like I said I am cool with asking another question even if its been asked 1000 times, don't tell me what to do, how to act, worry about yourself, and I'm sure there are many people here that would be more than willing to answer a question with a simple answer. And something you can try if you spend all this time on the forum, go back to what I said before ignore it, don't answer it, skip it, whatever just don't talk down to people, You should try that.

I kinda think you guys are being asses, seriously, maybe he shouldn't have posted the entire game log, and maybe he should search, but damn. Besides, if you really get annoyed with the same questions, just dont go in those topics, it's not that hard.

guys, chill.

the question has been answered, by the man who holds all the cards no less <no pun intended>, now all you are doing is creating bad blood between eachother.

We have a good community here, mostly good natured posts and a hands off head honcho. The only thing this thread would serve to do is to get the mod lock placed on us all and you guys getting pissed off at eachother more.

Is there really a need to get the last word in? let it die, for pitty sake, let it die.

Postby CfChrismo on Mon Mar 13, 2006 6:17 pm

Not to personal attack anyone here, but last time I checked this wasn't the Flame forum. Could we please at least try to stay somehow at topic without flaming anyone. As I see it, were all reasonable people here, so let's behave like it to then!

It would be so much nice to be/read at the forum if some people wasn't always flaming. Myself don't care about critic, but some people do. When they know that if the ask a "noob" question they are afraid to be flamed, and I don't blame them! Because when I read all the answers on the forum I'm shocked. I'm shocked that people can behave like this!

Remember; Even if you think it's easy to know, doesn't mean that all people think the same way.

I completely agree with the previous two posts. Heated nonsense like this exchange between monorojo13 and supermarcol drags General Discussion down to a lower level. The two of you are welcome to attack each other in the Flame Wars forum or better yet, in the game.

asking questions in forum

Postby wacicha on Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:49 am

I am old this is the first forum i have ever read and been a part of so I will one day ask a question about something that i should have read but got confused and didn't== but remember we're all players and the new players need to knowthat they (we) can ask w/out being looked on as stupid == just ignorant. So I propose we help the new players along even if it seems it's redundant and any new people who are now worried about asking anything that might be considered dumb PM me i also probably won't know but i'll help you find it so we can both learn.
