DragonLance Map (again...)

Postby krallam on Sat Aug 04, 2007 8:25 pm

ok you guys, this topic has really gotten me interested.i'm sitting here, holding my copy of "the Atlas of the DragonLance World", staring at all these beautiful maps thinking "why isn't there already a map of Krynn(or, at the very least, Ansalon)being enjoyed by the many members of CC already?".in particular, the map of Ansalon, on pages xvi-xvii of the introduction would have to be the one i'd like to see most here in CC because of its familiarity to the readers of this book.the best books(in my opinion, anyways)in the series occured in these lands.and,as you may or may not know, the full-length animated movie will also occur on this map.i believe the release of this movie will garner massive interest in these books, much like the movies did for the LOTR trilogy which, of course, already has a map in CC.methinks it would be a good idea for you guys to strongly consider getting started on something out of DragonLance now because if this movie is 1/10 as popular as LOTR, people are going to be pestering the foundry 24/7 about it!it would be really nice to see a "good" map come out of this whole thing.i would be more than willing to send these maps to the appropriate parties if it would aid in any way, the inclusion of a DragonLance map into CC.thanks for reading, krallam

i think someone had started a New York City Map...certainly i've seen several suggestions for it.
I found some topic numbers:
19143
21423
but since the foundry changed format they seemed to have disappeared in the re-arrangement process, or i'm looking in the wrong place.

If I had know this I would have done a New York City map myself, as my ideas were to use the subways and airports as attack options, and I've actually been there up the empire state building, La Guardia etc and up through New Rochelle....i'm very familiar with the NY layout as I studied it well for georgaphy yers ago in secondary school.

It is a great city and would make a great map.
If anyone wants me to do it, please let me know.

Or even perhaps Keredrex, this could be one for U since you're a graphic designer.

Soccer stadium- map idea

Soccer Stadium

Is this a map worth pursuing
yes 30% [ 4 ]
no 46% [ 6 ]
maybe so 23% [ 3 ]

Total Votes : 13

I know this idea has come up a lot in the past, but something always seems to prevent it from being completed. This is my new idea. As of now, it could go MANY MANY ways in terms of gameplay. But this is my basic idea, there will be field players (total of 22) each as a territory, as well as coaches and maybe subs/referees. How and where you can attack are already stated on the map, but I am open to any suggestions as to how attacks should be. Continents will be held by holding all defenders/midfielders/forwards on a team. I'm also thinking of making territories in the stands, but I need input on whether that should be a yay or nay. In terms of gameplay this can go many ways so all feedback will help.

Keep in mind, I have not even begun to work on the graphics, so don't worry about that. And if you vote, please leave a response

Here it is so far:

what about the LOTR map?did whoever made that map get permission?who in fact did make that map and get it into CC?the LOTR and DragonLance maps were actually drawn by the same person, Karen Wynn Fonstad so perhaps this idea might actually have a chance...

So coleman, are you still working on this?

If you still are, i agree with unriggable. We need at least some version of a rough draft to guide how our stuff should look.

How about a jigsaw puzzle map, with each puzzle piece being a territory. Continent bonuses could be easy enough to do... or there could be a new bonus system, holding certain pieces spread throughout the puzzle could obtain bonuses. The puzzle image could be anything.

Oh right, I probably will be leaving the forums for the most part. I will still be on CC maybe once a day to check in on my games, and post in the forums occasionally when I have time. :D

Soccer stadium- map idea

Postby snufkin on Mon Aug 06, 2007 7:55 am

I want to see a referee and a couple of linesmen.
maybe there could be a negative bonus for attacking (holding) them.

to make up for the negative bonus they should be able to attack everyone on the field like real referees.

the other football (soccer) map drafts were more about the stadium than the game. I like this one better..

in a good way, i like how it is like a real soccer game, with certain players attacking eachother.

Maybe do something with the goalie, and points.
