Tournament OverviewThis will be a 1v1 tournament with two stages. The first stage is a play-in round that will take place in Live Chat as real-time games (standard games where both players agree to stay online and play out the games). After this round, the top 16 will advance to a standard 1v1 bracket with best of 3 each matchup. Freestyle, speed, and manual deployments will not be allowed in this tournament, but any other settings are fine.
Play-In RoundFor the play-in round ONLY, you need to come to live chat and find either of the hosts to let them know you are ready to play a RT game. Times when a host is pretty certain to be in live chat are Monday-Friday at 1400 UTC (1000 CC Time), 1800 UTC (1400 CC Time) and 0030 UTC (2030 CC Time), but you can check with one of the hosts anytime they are in live chat. You will be assigned an opponent that is ready to play and you will work with your opponent to determine the map/settings you will play on, then the host will make the tournament game. The actual number of games you will play in the play-in round will be determined by the number of participants and how often you wish to play.
The Play-In Round will begin as soon as we have 16 players signed up and receive tournament permissions. The Play-In Round has started! Players are encouraged to continue signing up during the play-in round.
In order to make it to the standard bracket from the play-in round, a player will be required to play a minimum of 5 games, and at least the average number of games per player. This is to encourage players to continue playing games after their first 5. Also, each player will not be able to play the same opponent more than 3 times.
The play-in round will last for four weeks from the date it is announced as being open. The Play-In Round will last through September 30, with the 16 player bracket games being started on Friday, Oct 1.
Bracket RoundThe top 16 players from the play-in round (in terms of personal winning percentage) will move onto the non-RT part of the tournament. In case of a tie, head-to-head results will be used, as well as the number of rounds needed for a win (less is better). This will be a standard 16 player 1v1 bracket, best of 3 per round. Each player chooses one map and settings and the third will be chosen from the play-in round (see below for more info). Seedings will be chosen by the best winning percentage.
For the third game of the bracket portion, the hosts will determine the 4 most commonly used maps and settings. In the first round, the fourth most common will be used, the second round will have the third most common, the third round will have the second most common, and the final will have the most common used.
How To Sign UpTo play simply post in this thread and a host will PM you with instructions on how to join the specific live chat room for this tournament. Anybody can sign up at any time throughout the duration of the tournament.
RulesAll games in the play-in round must be played real-time. If a game stops being real-time it will no longer count towards the tournament statistics. If you stop playing real-time then you will be investigated: If you stopped because you were losing, you may be removed from the tournament. If you stopped because of a real life issue, you will receive a warning the first time and may be subject to removal afterwards. In the 16 person bracket the games will be standard games with standard rules.
Both players must agree to the map/settings used - no bullying players into maps/settings they do not want to play!
Anyone found abusing these rules is subject to removal from the tournament at the hosts' discretion. Hosts reserve the right to deny entrance to anyone removed from a previous tournament of theirs.
