I wish there was an option here to offer/demand a rematch with "opposite drop".
So many games are decided in the first turn or two, just because of the drop. i.e. opponent (or I) drop 3 of 4 territories required for a bonus, behind a neutral "blocker" and get first turn. meanwhile that lucky player's opponent has one or two territories that are totally isolated behind neutrals. I could beat sjnap, or any player in CC with one of those drops. No skill involved.
In backgammon, you can offer the Double Cube to your opponent and he accepts or forfeits the game for the current game value. Would be nice to have some kind of feature here like that. Offer (before your first turn, perhaps) to play the exact same game with the opposite drop. Some kind of compulsion or subtraction if the challenged does not accept.
there is this wonderous place called the Suggestions forum, where you can fill out a form for any and all suggestions you have to improve the site. yes, those suggestions can even include game play!! and if you are really good, and your suggestion is super keen, lackattack comes down your chimney and delivers what you have asked for... amazing thing, that suggestion forum!!!-0

A really good idea for two-player challenge matches IMO.
You may want to challenge a person, and even if you make it best of 5 or 7 you could get unlucky. With this suggestion, if you did no cards the only bit of luck would be the dice (no small part admittedly)
yea! I love this suggestion!
like a possibility to play 2 1v1 games instead of 1. but it should be decided that it will be 2 games before the game starts.
Nobody is going to accept a rematch with opposite drop if you already know the other one wil start with a big bonus..

I like the idea.
But there will be a problem if you play with fog
I've only read your original statement as my computer is messed up....but this is a fantastic idea. Absolutely awesome. Wonderful in fact. Maybe on of the greatest ideas I've heard. It's so crazy, yet logical, it ties in with the game, yet relates to other games we play in real life. It would only be usefull in 1vs1 games...team games with 2vs2....but who cares if it applies to everybody or not. I like 1 on 1 games....and would love to swap up the drop and play it again.....in fact...it's such a great idea...it'll probably never be deployed...or if it is.....it'll take a year or two. Thanks for the idea...but sorry...it's probably a waste of time to get your hopes up. if they ever do implement it...they'll probably just f*ck it up.
by the way...that's a great topic tittle...i knew exactly what you wanted and had to respond.
okay, thanks for the encouragement, for those who provided encouragement. And thanks for the re-direction for those who provided re-direction.
I don't know what the community would support as regards "rematches". Guaranteed from the start, or "forfeit points from this game if you refuse to take a double-or-nothing offer", or something in between.
I've been playing a lot of 1v1 games lately because I like the realtime aspect of them. However, i've had an unlucky streak and went from Major to Sgt 1st Class in the matter of a few days. Many of the games were over at the end of the first turn. Opponent drops all of Oz (or 3/4 of Oz and have first turn) and have a neutral in front of it, etc. I know/knew as soon as I saw the board that 1) I'm going to lose and 2) I would definitely win if I was in his/her shoes.
It would be nice to have the option to request/demand that chance.
