Not sure about copyright stuff, but I dont think we've really talked about randomly being assigned a mission to complete at the begining of the game (Like the Mission cards in the RISK board game). I know we probably dont want to be too much like RISK, but it would certainly add a new and entertaining twist to games where it is used....Thoughts? Comments?
Well they don't have to be a requirement. If they were somewhat easy to implement as an option for some games I'd be game for it. But if it would be too much of a hassle leave 'em out.
I don't remember what Risk's mission cards look like, but if they're what they sound like, I agree with Andy.
It reminds me of another idea I had recently: scenarios. Basically, they'd be XML files that specified which countries each player controlled at the start, how many armies were on each, perhaps a name for each side, and possibly also how many cards they started with and how many armies they could deploy in the first turn. It'd let you try out interesting historical battles, and it'd also let you compare different strategies based on the same initial configuration.
Mission cards and scenarios would likely work well together. But they're both things that probably aren't worth the time and effort it'd take to implement them.
It would probably not be worth diverting lacks attention to right now, but CC is still young and it definatly could be something we could implement in the future.

I agree, it would be a significant step up to make mission cards a game option, like terminator, or standard. That would be sick.
I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but I think the mission cards throw up some interesting games. I like the Middle Earth style cards versus the classic mission cards. Anyways, just an idea.
I am changing this from Pending to Rejected. We now have Assasin games and recent XML changes allow maps to have objectives. So much of the mission gameplay already exists. Also it would be tough to generate a true deck of mission cards for each map.
