Re: BOB 5.3.0

An additional observation: it looks to me like the UI chrome of the Conquer Club pages has changed in the last day. Certainly the login UI is laid out differently. It's perhaps possible that something changed in the HTML structure of the site which break's BOB's auto-reveal of the game menu. If I'm ...

Oops, Game menu always hidden

This is odd. This morning, BOB was temporarily hiding the game menu (in the left column of most pages) for me. When I moused over the left edge of the window, the game menu would reappear. Now, the menu is hidden, and no amount of mousing makes it appear. I see this behaviour both within games and ...

Re: BOB 5.2.3

BOB 5.2.4 was just offered to me as "update available". It makes BOB work again, on Firefox 16.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Thanks for the fix!

Re: BOB 5.2.3

Using Chrome I did this workaround and my BOB does still not work - appears to be 'initializing' at the bottom of the screen when I load a game but nothing happens.

You might have succeeded in installing BOB, but now be experiencing the same recent problem I described in my forum post above . I ...

BOB not appearing in game pages on Firefox [was Re: BOB 5.2.

User KingofExonia posted this bug report in the Tools & Enhancements forum :

Greasemonkey 0.9.1 install button did nothing, reverted to 0

Greasemonkey 0.9.1 wouldn't install Bob 5.1.5 for me. My workaround was to fall back to the older version 0.8 of GreaseMonkey, which installed Bob 5.1.5 just fine.

I pretty much ignore GreaseMonkey except when it asks me to update it. A few days ago, the
"Bob" script developers released version 5 ...

Me too. BOB 5.1.2 was accurately displaying number of regions in Fog of War games (as of 7 Dec 07:00h GMT) but now isn't (as of 7 Dec 18:20h GMT). Something changed in the last 11 hours.

"Has-breen" game company map (Classic gameplay, satire)

Reading 423,761 postings on the "Crazy Maps & Dice" forum gave me an idea for a map.

It follows the game-play and topology of the Classic map exactly — same territories, same connections.

The theme is a washed-up game company in the new 21st century marketplace. Maybe the washed-up game company ...

Thank you for the quick response!

I thought I saw one of the two lines of the fix ...

BOB rounding error for teamStrength (v 4.6.3)

Hi, folks:

BOB continues to delight. Thank you for your great work on it!

I think I've found a minor bug in BOB. In some team games, there is sometime a rounding error with the team's "Strength" value in the "Statistics" section. The rounding error presents as a number with many decimal places of ...

Try spelling more carefully, and maybe I'll agree with you

"Be aloud to choose your own color as we see it?"

I think I may agree with you, but I'm not sure, because this is a really hard sentence to understand. It might be easier to understand if it was spelled properly.

By "aloud", do you mean "allowed"?

What do you mean by "as we see it"?

Can ...

Clear drawing of colours

I see some people aren't as jazzed by the idea of visually representing number of armies as I am.

It is possible to improve the visibility of the player colour while sticking to compact display and using numbers to represent size of army. The trick is to draw a background shape, e.g. a circle or ...

Clear drawing of armies and colours

I find the display of armies on the map hard to read in some cases. There are two main problems:

1. Hard to see the colour. The digits of the number of armies on a country are drawn in the colour of the occupying player, and this is the only clue to the occupier's identity. The number "1" is ...

Make map structure (continents) available to greasemonkey

I'd like to be able to write a GreaseMonkey script that calculated continent bonuses, the desireability of continents, etc. This requires the game putting information about the structure of the map in a place where a GreaseMonkey script can pick it up.

Troy's marvellous script now appears to ...

I'd like to see summary of battles

I think there's a middle path between the current log reporting of battles (announce successful takeovers, be silent on unsuccessful takeovers) and reporting every die roll (as is proposed at XML level for Game Log 2.0). The middle path is:

1. report unsuccessful takeovers as well as successful ...
