I posted something a long time ago called The Battle of Los Angeles. I was thinking similarly of what you are talking about, not neccessarily going with the Crips, Bloods, etc. I have tried to do a paper map first, but I just haven't had enough time.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Hopefully I can figure it out how to use them because I have two or three real cool maps to try to bring into the mix here.

Hey guys. Thanks for the suggestion about GIMP. I clicked on the link and all it said was "Howdy." I let it wait for a minute and nothing.

Is there another way to get there?

I am designing a map right now on paper (yes real paper) and want to know the best way to get it into the foundry for ...

Battle of Los Angeles

Initial thoughts are the city of LA and the surrounding cities. Major emphasis would be put on the freeway system. Water attacks would be from Long Beach and San Pedro (maybe Point Magu and Port Hueneme in Ventura County).

Typical territory formation, maybe basing bonuses on counties.
