[Rules] Limit New Recruits to Two Turns Missed

Postby Wiggin on Fri Sep 28, 2007 10:19 pm

I think it's really annoying when a new recruit joins and deadbeats the game, wasting everyones time. If they are only a loud two missed turns it would save everyone 24 hours, and once they get 5 games in and "prove" themselves they can missed an extra turn.

It's actually a decent idea. It has its highs and at the same time it has its lows. You're allowed three missed turns for a reason. Taking one of those missed turns away wouldn't be fair in some cases. People do have lives and things come up. Sometimes you need both those missed turns before you can make it to a computer. On the positive side of the story though, it would really help cut down on deadbeating new recruits. Well not really the number of them, but the amount of time they waste in a game. Ultimately, it is up to Lack. This idea can be looked at from either perspective and is good in some ways and bad in others. Personally, I wouldn't mind it.

Almost all new recruits that miss their first turn aren't coming back, so let them only miss 2.

Really not the best idea. What if the new recruit is gone for the weekend? He's eliminated, thinking he had 3 turns to miss. That would really tick them off and they'd leave.

Obviously he would know if he was going to be gone for the weekend and so he wouldnt sign up for a game and if it was a surprise trip then he loses one game. For a new recruit one game isnt a big deal. And he wouldnt be surprised about the two turns cause it would be advertised, which is why im never surprised about people being eliminated after their third missed turns

I think this is a decent idea. It will save a lot of time for people playing deadbeat new recruits

this isnt a good of fair idea. Why should a new recruit be treated any diffirently to a malor?

yes they may be more likely to deadbeat but by puting them at a disadvantage you are then leaving less incentive to stay at the site. i dont see why deadbeating is such a big deal. any onlnie site has a high % of new player who dont stay long aftersigning up.

Personally, I think you should get kicked out if you miss one turn. I've been playing for several months now and I have only missed one turn the entire time. I hate it when I have to wait from several days to a week for a simple game to end because someone or several people keep missing turns.

thats jsut part of hte game and youll have to learn to just live with it. 1 turn is to little, sometimes peopel have real life issues. should they be at a disadvantage becauase of this?

If new recruits got kicked out sooner, that would defeat the purposes of making them come back.

First of all, I never said that only newbies should get kicked out for missing a turn. The rule should apply to all. I know it won't happen, but that's what I would like to see. I know things happen that can sometimes cause you to lose a turn but if eveyone knows the rule, then they know the consequences. It's a simple rule that applies to all. It's just my opinion anyway.

All new recruits have to do is play 5 games and then they get an extra turn to miss. Im just saying we cant keep catering to the new recruits and frustrate the people who really want to play.

Even if the get to miss 3 turns there is no gurantee they'll come back. In fact it is probably one of the last things they care about.

Why pussyfoot around with new recruits? If they want to play they play their turn.

If they think like "hey, this is too slow" they usually miss all their turns and get kicked out.

I'm sure lack or someone can run a statistics test on this? My guess is that 80% (or more) of the new recruits that miss one turn ends up deadbeating and getting kicked.

Therefore, new recruits are like cannon fodder.

My suggestion is:
If they miss one turn they are usually dead anyway so just kick them for the sake of the game. When they finished 5 games (without deadbeating) they can miss up to 3 turns.

This way CC gets rid of the sand in the machinery and the trustworthy members are the ones that are taken care of.

NOT PEOPLE THAT DON'T GIVE A F%$#&*! ANYWAY!

OK, how many new recruits have you guys layed in the last week?

How many new recruit deadbeats have you had?

I seriously want to know how new recruit deadbeats can affect you more than me, given that I get tuck with a load of them every time I open 6p assassin games.

Yea, he's a rebel isn't he?

there are a lot of kids that come on here not knowing what they are getting in to. I keep hearing that we are not encouraging new recruits to stay by putting limits on what they can do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't a vast majority of message boards on the net have a "probationary" period for noobs?

None that I've been too, but the forums I usually go to don't have quite the wide spectrum of n00bs that CC games have.

I think that ANYONE (not just new recruits) Who misses their turns for 2 turns should get eliminated from the game! Also, anyone who misses two turns NOT in a row(meaning miss one round, goes the next round, and then misses the next round) should also be eliminated. That's my opinion!

2 missed turns for new recruits

Postby frood on Thu Nov 22, 2007 4:45 pm

<Subject>:
Make the number of turns a new recruit has to miss to be kicked two instead of three.

I think this pretty much explains its self.

It is needed because nothing makes a game drag on like multiple dead beaters and new players often join the never come back.
I have an IQ of 195. Of course my answers are different!
