I don't think that would be unreasonable, and I don't think it will exclude too many players either.

I certainly hope that nobody is thinking of staying away from my tournaments just because of potential points lost. That would be tragic.

I'm not sure what I think right now. Tragic? Hyperbole, to be sure. Maybe such sentiment will prompt organizers (myself included) to organize better tournaments. A couple of points:

1. 1v1 games undoubtedly have a higher luck factor than 3-6 player games. The rolls in the first 2-3 rounds usually decide the game. It is much easier to win as a weaker player. I'm not saying Jake is a weak player - I honestly have no idea, other than to notice that to get down to 400 points is pretty hard to do.

2. Points have never been a consideration for me in joining tournaments. No captain would ever join tournaments, other than those with strict point requirements, if they were.

I'm not accusing anyone of joining for the sole purpose of gaining a boatload of points. I don't know if jake was thinking of that or not.

just saying i didnt intend that because i saw the movie so i thought it would be cool and this is one of about 2 tournya im in and i only got to 400 points cause i had some games going and couldnt get to the internet so i deadbeated

It's all good guys, no worries. I don't think there is a whole lot to worry about.

Yes, 'tragic' was a bit of hyperbole to be sure. We've got several Captains in this tournament actually.

I've got my records updated finally after finishing with Harry Potter earlier this evening. I will work on sending out PMs and posting new brackets while I am at work tomorrow morning.

I apologize again for the slow weekend in keeping up.

Alright everyone, after a weekend of Harry Potter I have finally updated and posted the new brackets for all of you to see. Some of them are getting very close to being finished and revealing the first of our 8 brackets champions.

Unfortunately, I seem to have temporarily lost my tournament privileges due to either an update or some random circumstances, so it will be a day or so before I can get new games created.

Thanks for your patience, I'll get you up and running as soon as I can.

Regards, Optimus Prime

Is it just me or does the bracket change forward and backward in results each time I look? Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

The brackets aren't showing updated on my screen, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I'm checking the brackets posted in this topic.

Earlier it showed I had advanced from position F having beaten Winter_Sorrow in Megatron. Now, what I see has me still playing ivoK in the second round from two matches ago. I don't know why.

I am really confused then because I can pull up the 2nd post and see you ready to face off against 0ojakeo0 as soon as I get privileges back to make a game after this update. Hmmmm....perhaps when I get home later I will redo the posting of the brackets to see if that helps.

I'm still not sure why that is happening, but I promise I am trying to figure it out.

I need to officially let everyone know that as of right now we are at the point of me not knowing when I will get to create new games due to the new system update on Tournament Privileges. I can only promise that as soon as they give them back to me I will create the games.

I hope this isn't too big of an inconvenience to you players. All of you have been great and I am trying to keep us playing games as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Don't sweat it Optimus. You are doing a fantastic job and it will all work out. Give it time and know that most of us will be patient. :D

Okay everyone, I have decided to use the current privileges I have, even though they are for Battle for Middle Earth to create our new games until I get the Cybertronian League ones back. This means that in the next couple of days you may be sent a PM with a game number that will show "The Battle for Middle Earth" as its tag when you go to join. Please rest assured that this is still the correct game if it happens to you. I keep meticulous records and can promise the results will be recorded properly.

As soon as the Cybertronian League tags get given back to me I will resume using them. In light of this please be sure to remember to post your wins and results of the games in the tournament thread as you have so diligently been doing so far.

I have just sent out new PMs to several players who finally had opponents ready, and I have also updated and posted the new brackets. I still have absolutely no idea why the brackets were not working previously, unless reverend_kyle really did figure out how to hack my photobucket and is messing with me. They are showing current and updated for me on my computer, so if they don't for any of you, I honestly am out of options as to how to fix it.

Keep on playing, it looks like we are back on our feet and ready to go.!!

It's recorded, and a PM was sent to you and your opponent about an hour ago. Have fun!

I've recorded it on my brackets to be included with the next update. It may be a few days before either you or larry holland have an opponent a couple other games have to finish first.

Brackets

Postby dcc1220 on Wed Jul 25, 2007 2:59 pm

Concerning the brackets, I believe it was my error. If I go to page one I see the brackest with random matches complete (no idea why), but if I refresh the page I see everything up to date and complete. The problem is on my end not yours :D
