Forget it. Nothing to see here. Drunk and over-serious.

In MD, bikes on the highway is already a no-no

Bikes, meaning, motorcylces?
In Detroit at least, motorcycles are called bikes... and you can't seriously think they are not allowed on highways, that's what they are made for.

ksslemp wrote:"Those who would give up some Liberty, to purchase a little Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."..... Benjamin Franklin

If we use the modern interpretation of this quote, old Ben would be against traffic lights and helmet laws.
I know if he were around today, he'd see the wisdom of the Patriot Act and racial profileing, He wasnt a limp wrist like half the Americans today.
Damn racists and their racial profilings.

Tell me what is so bad about racial profiling? At the airport, are you telling me that the 60 year old grandmother should be just as suspicious as a 20-something Arab male? There is a time and a place for racial profiling. In the job place, no. Housing, buying a car, things like this, no. But for law enforcement, is a a useful tool in many applications. Not always, true, but many times, yes.

Biden-McCain in '08... I know its a pipe dream but I think unifying the parties on a single ticket would work wonders toward gaining even a sembelance of unity in this country.

Again, the parties should NOT be unified. I do like how you picked the liberal republican (McCain) to run with Biden. McCain could practically switch parties. There is more unity in this country than people realize. There will always be differing opinions. Some people for the war, some against... some against illegal immigration, some for opening the borders more... this is a healthy part of running the country. It's a built-in check. If everyone was "united" like you say on the issues, you'll find we'll be closer to a North Korea government than what we have.
