Mafia know that lynching victor will screw them royally so stop trying to twist things.

And mafia should realize that falko gave victor a protection sword so they can't off him when they would need to to win so following cult to try to position themselves is moot.

They didn't but I assume / is experienced enough to realize that eventually they will have to off him and the sooner the better for mafia. If victor has gotten a sword that can protect him like the scene suggests then they will not be able to at that crucial point. So the only way to get rid of victor sucessfully and cleanly would be to side with town for a victor lynch.

As the day dawned, the three sides eyed each other suspiciously. Everyone seemed to have a pretty good idea who was who, but it still left the matter of someone coming out victorious. After much discussion, everyone decided to retire to the pub so rum could be had and some dealmaking could be accomplished. After the day started to darken, everyone decided to hang edocsil, as he seemed to have made a lot of enemies, and seemed to now be expendable.
