I think it can deemed "methodical in procedure or plan" to purposefully set-up games for 5 players as a honey trap. He knew full well he was attracting noobs and thought "Hey, this is working well" and continued to do so "regularly", so I think the definitions of 'systematic' have been well covered here.

Wouldn't any games being played by the busted player be won by their opponent? Seems like a coincidence here.

So if I read what KA was posting correctly, It looks like Alster will get a "warning", as I don't think he has been accused /warned previously.
Looks like the rules were changed just in time to:

A) Save face for Alster, as it appears he is off with a slap on the wrist for thousands of games of farming NR's.

B) The MH's don't have to set precident by busting a friend for an obvious infraction of farming, or let him off the hook and allow a new breed of "legal" farming of NR's as long as it is less than 20% of your total games.

Now to see if Alster can steer clear of his former ways.

they still have to set a percentage or number of games until they do that then it will still be a subjective test and will mean nothing. in any case it means nothing as the known people will just stay under the radar. This i am sure will have the same effects as being savaged by a sheep but i wait in anticipation

This farming update seems very silly, so what they are saying is one can basically join as many new recruit games as one wants and then get their first warning, and it is only a warning so this coud inject between 100-500 points into ones score depending on when one gets caught. Then they go and join all the new recruit games they want...again, and then they get a one month ban which by that point could be 100-200 games if they just sit their and join games. There is no actual punishment here...really if you want to do a tiered system, you should just start chopping points off players.

100 pts first time your caught
250 second time
point reset to 1000 the third time.

Im actually shocked with the new rules. Open season on new recruits I guess.

have to admit your right s3xtoy.....

there is no punishment in these new rules......

unless you have some automated process in the CC program that monitors all the games being joined and will alert the mods when someone keeps joining games with NR's and they can take action against these players..

or are these new rules still depending on the CC community to bring these kinds of reports to the attention of everyone else just to be told the accused got a warning and maybe if someone spots him at it again (could be a year later) he gets a 1 month ban from joining games with NR's....

something tells me its the latter of these two....i wont be wasting anymore of my time on these reports......

I really thought that this kind of play and other cheap tactics where taken seriously on this site.....that the scoreboard was a measure of overall skill and strategy with some luck thrown in......

lackattack wrote:As farmers move up the scoreboard it also harms the competitive nature of Conquer Club - the scoreboard is meant to measure skill in the game, not "harvesting" techniques.

that statement is laughable....

farming of NR's is rampant and we have a Conqueror that wouldn't know a competitive game if it jumped up and slapped him in the face...

this would be a far better punishment scale...

Cheers Ace....if anyone is looking for me ill be tracking down some NR's games to join.... :D

then you obviously have not seen the numbers, don't know what happened in the other cases that were steam shoveled under the carpet and have no idea that eye84free and alster are long time friends... it wouldn't be so weird if they had just won about the same amount of games we all have won by busts...-el Jesus negro

After discussing and reviewing this with the other hunters, we have concluded that alstergren was aware of what he was doing in joining these games with new recruits. In spite of the few games presented as evidence, taking into consideration his knowledge of the farming rule, his past, and his awareness of his actions, this report results in a disciplinary action where he will be stopped from joining games with new recruits for a certain period. And to make this fully possible, he has been blocked from joining games with any new recruits for a month.

The farming disciplinary measures has been updated:

Community Guideline:

As for those people who keep posting with a hint of conspiracy theories, if you don't know who busted who, or simply keep interjecting fictional stories, let's give this a rest. Why not become a writer instead. Let's stop spamming reports if you really have nothing to back up what you think and what you want others to think. Passing judgment without proof only slows down resolving the open report.

Wow!

Two cents:

1. This is indeed unprecendented since past farming violations have focused on a relative high share of NR games (%-wise and time frames having varied from case to case). But now, (i) few games, (ii) being aware of playing NRs and (iii) knowledge of the rule is enough for a warning. Normally one would expect that not having bothered to read the rules wouldn't be an excuse. And apparently an effort to follow the rules/past decisions (as they were) is something that is an aggrevating factor. That really doesn't make sense to me, especially since joining a few games (everyone knows exactly who/what he/she is doing when joining a game) was explicitly said to be ok when the rule was announced. If this is followed consequently, it is very easy to run foul of this anti-NR "farming" rule. In fact, it seems more like an anti-NR "playing" rule reading this.

2. But I'm fine with this. Don't mind the drama. Recall "my" de facto double turns that also caused a change to the CC programming.... :D

Frankly, this was a soft ruling, so you should just be happy not to get pounded in the ass like you deserved.
