Out of curiosity, is TOS your favourite Star Trek?
It is, followed pretty closely by ST:TNG and I actually liked the latest Enterprise a great deal (the one with the dude from Quantum Leap).

I found Voyager to be ok...a little dark for my taste, but not bad.

I despised Deep Space 9 more than any other. Much too dark.

But I grew up on the original, so it really does stick with me the most.

For a while, I've wanted to sit down...over a couple of years, and watch all 762 episodes of all the Star Trek series.

My family has done this a couple of times. Though we didn't do it "one episode per day", but rather in stretches of episodes.

I recommend suits. If you can get over the fact that almost all the characters are heartless lawyers it is a good watch.

In the same vein, House of Lies is a pretty good watch too. Only instead of heartless lawyers, they're heartless consulting agents. Plus it's on showtime, so you know there's lots of sex and nudity and drug use and all that other fun stuff to watch.

Greatest show ever.

I've started watching Episodes, not a bad little sitcom.

I recommend you stop your futile attempts to fill the void in your life with trite stories and start actually living.

On the other hand, The Wire really is fucking brilliant.

Meh.. The wire... it's actually pretty good but it's not one of those series I can't wait for the next ep to be aired.

I think I stopped watching it in the second season I believe, with the Polish characters.

I feel sorry for anybody that has not been watching Breaking Bad. It may be better than the wire.

Yup, gotta agree on that, but you won't have a bad time watching The Wire either. Two excellent shows, but Breaking Bad edges out The Wire for its dark sense of humour.

I must add that breaking bad isn't a show you should just jump into season 5. Its worth starting at the beginning and catching up.

I'd agree with that, especially as some of the opening episodes are among the best. The show is never less than good.

I was looking for a series, drama, comedy whatever, that was good enough to get lost on it for a couple of hours daily..

After some research I started watching True Blood, and it was interesting at the beginning, not that I'm a fan of vampire stories, but a psychic girl, vampires, boobs and murders, well, was good. Unfortunately towards the end of the first season it became a soap opera. Does it get good in the second season or it becomes more soap operashy?

Soap Operay, but in a fun way. It's not a serious series. The silly bits expand, but they're done by, on the whole, good actors.

If you like the silly stuff, stick with it. If you're looking for a serious series, meh- it just gets more ridiculous.

Indeed, the silly stuff I like. Is Supernatural any better?

Not watched much of it, but Supernatural is more episode based, and True Blood is more of a series.

I still have to recommend The Borgias, on Showtime.

If you liked Rome on HBO, then you will probably like this show as well.

Has anyone recommended The Finder?

http://www.fox.com/the-finder/

From the creator of Bones (which is another one I love).....awesome show....had a killer season ending episode that leaves you jonezing for the next season (like Bones...dammit!). Love the giant black dude that stars in it, Michael Clarke Duncan...he's funny as hell and a real ass-kicker :D

EDIT: crap....just looked it up and it appears to have been cancelled, although Bones will be on again ;o(
"Gypsy told my fortune...she said that nothin showed...."

Neil Young....Like An Inca

If Supernatural appeals to you, don't watch it. Watch Buffy instead.

(And then if you like Buffy, also watch Angel. I think it's actually better.)

Also, Firefly.

On the BBC front: Luther is possibly the best detective show I've seen.

I didn't read all 13 pages but...

Has anyone mentioned Doctor Who?
It's by far the best series ever.
You can also watch its spinoff Torchwood.
And Twin peaks is great too

I don't know if you'll like it...
What I can tell you is that if you think "this is just another sci fi series" you're wrong.
It's more than that.
There's comedy, drama, etc...

A lot of my friends have taken a strange interest in Storage Wars. I haven't seen much of it.
