[CC2] TOFU vs BOFM [22-19 of 41] [Final]

so how close is this one? I did a quick view in the games, and it looks like BoFM have a chance for 22. Looks to be, by far, the best match in this young CCup 2 tourney.

It's very close - has been the whole way. Final score will most likely be 21-20 though to which clan it's hard to say.

These are the fun ones.....it reminds me of Nemesis vs THOTA in the first CCup....THOTA winning 21-20....it also reminds me of a commercial that was playing this year for the NCAA tournament where after a game winning shot, it showed two fans, the first with a fist pump and the other hanging his head while on a bus after watching it from his phone.

Interesting. I had forgotten about that 21-20 THOTA tussle with Nemesis. I'm curious - did HardAttack play for Nemesis in that series? Reason I ask is because the guy's a first class player and reader of the game and can hold his own against any top flight team, so in a 41 game series one really has one's work cut out. The Mermaids were always stiff opposition with a good retinue of varied maps and quality team players, but the addition of HardAttack to their number puts them way up in my own assessment of 'Power Ranking' of CC clans.

It's why he was the first person I approached when I founded TOFU with Dako & jpeter15.

According to the game log that was recorded, it appears he was not with Nemesis at that time. And I agree, there are some very good players in BoFM. That clan has a lot of strength and potential.

Lol, don't stretch the truth there Jackal, that challenge was 20-20 and then there was the last min tie-break on classic. If it was the 2.1 we have now it'd probs be a whole 'nother story

But yeah, HA was on his break then so he didn't play (tho I'm curious to know whether Stroop was there then or not? I think he disappeared late july). Btw, Thanks for the kind words HA, tho I feel we may have somewhat regressed a bit considering the performance against Empire (hopefully just teething problems getting up and running again after losing such stalwarts as yourself

). Also, don't forget that freakns is back again, tho at a somewhat less active level with freemium, tho if anybody wants to make him gold you're welcome to do so

. As war leader for the Thota war, I'm sure he had much to do with how close we got to unhorsing them

I'm not sure I agree with your Power Ranking assessment tho CoF, I definitely don't think Bofm were so lowly as to be 15th seeds after being unbeaten over the past year and they proved their abilities after defeating ID 6 months ago. So if they do pull off a victory here, it'll be no more surprising then the Foed upset and they've both been hanging around the top ten mark in my estimation for quite a while now.

Yep, I dont recall HA and Stroop being in that challenge. It was really close. I was proud to be part of it at that time, but as HA mentioned, most of the good players left Nemesis after that challenge.

Im sure they will find their way back to be a strong clan with the new additions.

I'm not sure what there is to disagree about Leehar. I had BFM at 9th or 10th in previous rankings and would now place them as high as 5th or 6th. Your own opinion would seem to concur with this.

Very interesting challenge here indeed. Didn't expect it anywhere near this close - props to BotFM for putting such a good performance. Definitely interested in how this will end?

I dont understand how I am stretching the truth.

Either way, if Nemesis had its entire population playing, it may have been different. Just as game selection could have changed it too. But, it may not have either.....guess we'll never know. But to me, it didnt make Nemesis (at that time) a less formidable clan.

It's one of those "How long's a piece of string?" scenarios. It really depends if player quotas are imposed and new sitting restrictions are implemented. It then becomes much harder to place high up the order a clan that lacks depth in top quality players.

but how can you define top quality players?! im pretty sure you greatly value every member of TOFU, but then again, im pretty sure, realistically, they are not all top quality players... and in clan wars, in my experience, assigning games is as important(if not more) as strength of players. and just with that, strength of clan is as big as their ability to work as one within the clan. you mention Nemesis vs THOTA clan war. while someone could look at 20-20 as a fluke, i can assure you it wasnt. but in that clan war, i spend more time talking with my clanmates before we even start games, then playing actual games. result was obvious, pretty much everyone in clan perform at their best and we were close to beat by that time unbeaten clan, even without Stroop and HA... and if someone ask you who is in Nemesis, how many can you remember without looking? and would you think about any of us as top quality player?!

Interesting little discussion about power rankings. Have always been tempted(won't say whether I've succumbed) to put TOFU last, as a statement on the weakness of vegetarians. Agree with freaky, that a clan war/challenge is more about putting the right teams and maps together than the individual strength of any players. I always try and put together teams that have a similar taste in either clothes or alcohol. Don't want people to clash about outfits now.

dear Insomnia, it is not mandatory to be naked and on cam chat with CoF while playing. i know he was pushing this to be accepted as a rule, but fortunately since Dako didnt like his naked reflection in mirror while trying out new Victoria Secret collection, board of moderators has decline this, so it is possible to play while wearing something else then high heels.
