Its closer to a year and half. and yeah its accurate.
Election are in November of '08, but the president doesn't leave the office until January.

I remember hearing something about Russia siding w/ Iran a while ago in an atempt to keep the US from sticking its dick further into the middle-east. Historically Russia has been an Ally of Iran as well. They were backing them during the last Iran-Iraq war. Guess which country was backing Iraq? This administration seems to be immune to learning from history.

actually it predicts that there will be a great change, possibly cataclysmic in nature. The end of the current era and the beggining of a new drastically different one

I honestly don't understand the furor over the covert ops in Iran, I for one support them. I was against the second Gulf War when it was declared. Covert ops mean that the US is looking for an alternative means, other than all out warfare, to influence Iran. I think we should all support this sort of change in policy.

I presume his being elected counts as one such "catastrophic event". Personally, I'm surprised this was only ratified a few weeks ago, I thought it had been in place for years.

I just checked his sources and this is what jumped out at me:

From the CIA source the whole article is based upon:

"I can't confirm or deny whether such a program exists or whether the president signed it, but it would be consistent with an overall American approach trying to find ways to put pressure on the regime,"

I'm afraid its all speculative bollocks, Avron, and although you seem to have the root of the politics correct (Russian support of Iran, US gradually tightening the pressure) this is all pretty extreme assumption. It is such a tightly balanced situation (in the same way the Cold War proxy conflicts were) that it is highly unlikely that it will spill over into armed conflict in the near future. The US still can't afford to provoke Russia into a diplomatic standoff. It will all be economic and propoganda-based, not military.
