I don't have to deal with it. You will have to live with the shame of it.Serbia wrote:I'm out. You're going to have to deal with it.

Lazy owners? You got to be kidding me. Transaction limits basically puts everyone in paranoid mode. I would say that out of most of the potential player pool a significant percentage of the top tier players are HIGH RISK for serious injury sometimes during the season. Even the ones that are not HIGH RISK have a real chance for injuries. In the real world a significant amount of a team's long term ability is the ability to call up from the minors players to replace their injured players. The typical fantasy league has a very small DL list. If too many players of your team go on the DL, with limited transactions, you are left with holes in your positions which effectively means SEASON OVER.Serbia wrote:Transaction limits are perfect for lazy owners.

Yes, and as a lazy owner with a Ph.D. to finish, I support transaction limits.Serbia wrote:Transaction limits are perfect for lazy owners.
Bollocks.

If it was just me, I wouldn't say anything. But almost everyone other than nietzsche last year didn't have the time to keep up with his obsessive transaction habits. So it wasn't really a competition. The rest of the league shouldn't be made simpler simply because you're an absentee manager, you self-centered dick.
The funny thing is that yes, he had far and away more transactions than anyone else. He had 204 acquisitions; I was second with 93. Frito was third with 72. Yet, I dominated the regular season, and if I hadn't suffered some injuries down the stretch (Stanton really stands out in my mind) I would have won the league. Point being, his insane use of the waiver wire isn't the only reason he won. I drafted a vastly superior team that got hit by injuries and poor performance at the worst possible time.Metsfanmax wrote:Serbia wrote:metsfan, if you're that busy, why in the wide world of FUCK are you playing?
See above. It's the only way I can obtain an incentive to keep up with baseball, and I try to keep up with baseball mainly because other men are obsessed with baseball and it gives me a way to pretend that I'm not entirely a nerd that is disinterested in sportsy things.

Also, absentee manager is just not fair. With only a couple of exceptions, I logged in every day and made sure that my roster was active players and tried to do the best I could with the time I had.

Sure. I lost most of my matches in part because I auto-drafted a shitty team, because I couldn't actually be there for the draft time that was set.Serbia wrote:The funny thing is that yes, he had far and away more transactions than anyone else. Lol at the little child throwing a tantrum.nietzsche wrote:So let me understand.
I lost Tulowitzki, Carlos Gonzalez, Arenado, Cuddyer, Cliff Lee, Gareth Richards, David Ortiz big part of the season and in the final weeks, Texeira and who knows who else.
Towards the end, there was only shit in the FA list, it was a season with a lot of injuries and a lot of players were shut down. The best were taken. The few replacements that I got in the FA that were good also got injured like Holt and Beltran or were shutdown like the Padres pitcher I don't remember his name. I'm not sure but I think Iwakuma and Hamels also lost some of their last starts.
So you say I should've just spread my legs and let Pixar or Serbia rape me in the finals?
I should've thought "oh yeah.. I've made too many moves already I'm going to stop now". f*ck you you everybody gets a trophy generation.
Have your league however you want it. I'm out.
You started this thread, so I think that makes this your league.nietzsche wrote:Have your league however you want it. I'm out.

I'm agnostic on them. I do know if there are limits there is no way I'm going to draft anyone with a known chance of injury. You get a bunch of them hitting you in a given week and you're screwed for the week.Serbia wrote:Ok first, tzor, I can't tell if your rambling scenario is coming out in favor or against transaction limits.

O RLY?Serbia wrote:I drafted a vastly superior team that got hit by injuries and poor performance at the worst possible time.

I'm not the one threatening to give up on the league entirely if I don't get my way. I'll just man up and deal with it. But you asked for our opinions, so I gave mine.nietzsche wrote:tell that to Mets
You're not playing because you don't think you can win unless you are hyper aggressive.nietzsche wrote:You guys want to make the league more mediocre, and I disagree. Next season will be "lets not have more that 5 starts per team per week because nietzsche drops position players to add pitchers".
