I believe you mean N3 should be linked to E1 which is linked to E2-7.The1exile wrote:Greenalnd should be linked to iceland which is linked to europe.reggie_mac wrote: only because this thread isn't locked yet and you know it will be.

Well, of course they don't go together nicely, silly, otherwise there wouldn't be any problems.Gregrios wrote:I've read about 50% of the Koran and have found two major discrepancies with the Holy Bible. One being on the topic of Jesus and the cross. According to the Koran, it appeared as if Jesus was crucified, but actually wasn't. The second one however is more convincing than the first(for me anyway). Mohammad goes on to describe some of the physical features of the anti-christ to come. The problem with this however is according to Jesus the head of prophecy was cut off with John of revelations. The head of prophecy being visions of the future inspired by God himself. Considering Mohammad's life came after that of John of revelations, this comes in direct conflict with what Jesus said. This mainly being the reason why I only read 50% of the Koran.
Yup, you're absolutely right. I was referring more to the organized church and the abuses of power throughout it's history.b.k. barunt wrote:
Good synopsis of Islam and Judaeism, but way off on the Christianity, unless you throw out the Bible and go with the traditions of the organized Christian church.
Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world", therefore those professing to follow Him are hypocrites if they try to in any way seize power in this world, or force their way on others. The "Christian extreme" would, if following the scriptures, be a monastic existence where one would shun violence of any kind, and live a life of self denial.

How can Arab be synonymous to Muslim? There are millions of non-Muslim Arabs and millions of non-Arab Muslims. Hating Muslims who want to enforce Islam to everyone is not a problem but hating Arabs is just racist. Islam as a way of how a state should be ruled with the Koran instead of a constitution is really dangerous. In my opinion, Koran was a progressive book for the 6th century but the conditions have totally changed after 1500 years. If it is worshipped by its believers peacefully it is just another religion which says stupid things, like all religions.pimpdave wrote: The way that Arab has become synonymous with Muslim has become synonymous with terrorist.
I think dave is reflecting on much of the ignorance surrounding Islam and Arabia. Hell, the whole Middle East is a big question mark for some folks.Ntetos wrote:How can Arab be synonymous to Muslim? Well, how many Arabs live in the USA, for example? Of that number, how many are Muslim? I'm sure census data is readily available online, but I don't care enough to look it up.b.k. barunt wrote:where are all these millions of non Muslim arabs?

I think you're confusing this thread with one that you created but didn't.jbrettlip wrote:Can we get back to the TOPIC....are there muslims on CC and if not, why. Please add to my list.

I once played a game with a guy from Iran but I don't know if he was Muslim.jbrettlip wrote:Can we get back to the TOPIC....are there muslims on CC and if not, why. Please add to my list.
\Sorry PImpdave, you are correct...I was responding to the 3rd post in the thread.b.k. barunt wrote:Evidently you can't be a citizen of most arab countries if you're non-muslim, which would make this an even more repressive religion than Catholicism. Don't we have any devout (or even nominal) Muslims here who might defend their beliefs? I have to say, after reading the Koran, it strikes me as a fooking comic book without the pictures. At least give us some pictures.

"Millions of non Muslim arabs"? Maybe if you classify the Israelis as arabs, otherwise i think that's a bit exaggerated. Other than Lebanon, which has a few arab Christians, where are all these millions of non Muslim arabs?
