As for the board itself (ignoring the box), the 1959 version looks the same, except that the edges are white, as is the back side of the board... While the 1963 board is Blue.

My parents bought us kids a Brand New RISK board that had the plastic pieces, but we always preferred to play with the beat up 1963 game we found at a garage sale... lol... they just shook their heads... afterall, how could they know how much nicer it is to play with the wood pieces... :mrgreen:
The feel of something natural is so much better than plastic.
