Sometimes, it's better if roles aren't revealed, so the mafia doesn't know who the powerroles are. A character claim is sufficient, as long as nobody counterclaims.

One way we could settle this is that if either or both of you claim, that way if one (or both??) of you is genuinely town, your good unchallenged claim could stop us from unwisely lynching you. If you decide to go like this, it could be wise to claim sooner rather than later so that people have enough time to unvote if they choose.

Clive could also just believe that you are innocent which is why he rushed to your aid. I do not think this is so, but it is still an option, and people still could have reasons to believe you. I believe you to be town now will not be casting a vote on you anytime soon unless something drastic happens.

When people are pressured into giving a claim they generally give a full claim as opposed to just the character name. He is already the main target for the mafia to kill tonight unless he is saved by a doctor or something. The town will not likely lynch him at any point in this game as he is basically confirmed town (and probable power role). So that makes him such a huge target for the scum that he actually telling what his power is won't really make him any more of a target. And the information can help the town. Say for example that he is killed tonight and the mafia have a janitor. Then we will never know what his role was. If he was a role like a cop, then a mafia could fake claim being a cop and we would be more likely to believe them as we would think a cop would surely be in the game. Unless he is like a bomb or something, he might as well just tell us his role...

No this just gives mafia more information, Legolas is a big character but not the biggest so scum will want to know his exact role to figure out whether he is worth the risk. Plus this strategy protects doctors who are vurnerable when revealed as scum know they will not be protected. Why do town need to know unless he has information for us, e.g. a cop who has investigated.
