Actually, we don't even have to do that. I can explain things here without quoting. Here is what happened:
Me and Neb get our walkie-talkies and are told we can talk to one another, but we can't reveal our roles or who we are. I clarify about hinting. The host says we CAN hint at our identities and roles, but it cannot be obvious, or else he'll blur it out. I believe it was Neb who came up with hinting in the thread. Crazy said that was fine, but you couldn't post something like "I HAVE A WALKIE-TALKIE!", because that would get you a modkill and blacklist. Does this or does this not tell you you cannot post that you have the item in the thread. Otherwise, why would posting that be a problem?

Also, on top of saying that, he's already clarified that we can't obviously even hint at our roles or names-he wants to make it difficult for us to figure out who the other is.

Yes, but the mod has said that you have taken that out of context. I am trying to give you an out here (not sure why, but there you go - Christmas comes early). If the Mod was answering something about what you were doing on day one that has no relevance to subsequent days then that exlains everything. Then you are right and the others are right and we can all move on to something more constructive.

That was why we couldn't obviously hint and why we couldn't choose who got the walkie-talkie that was given up. The host said saying we have it in the thread would get us modkilled/blacklisted. Trying to say it was just a Day 1 thing is a cheap out and only serves to make me look bad and is clearly not the case. If the mod meant something else, he can clarify, but that doesn't change what it looks like to someone reading it.

I understand your concern. But frankly I don't think it ever looks bad to stand back and go "hmm well that's another possibility I never thought of" - and put it down to the mods cryptic ways. Probably a bit pointless playing the mod, but at least you can point to a misunderstanding rather than to any dilebarate action on your part to WIFOM. The problem at the moment is that you and the others are alive and the WT has been spoken about. Maybe the mod changed his mind, maybe the mod din't explain it so well, maybe the mod said something in the context of a conversation you had with the mod on day one and you have assumed that carried over to subsequent days. But frankly, who cares? I understand your concern that if you go "ok hippo I'll just let it go" that it might make you look weak or dithery. But I really don't think so. I think in the context of the thread is is a diplomatic option and it allows us to all get on and play the game rather than this endless spiral. I also add that I would not think any less of you if you moved on from this issue, but I do accept I can't speak for others. I would be immensely suspicious, however, of anyone who wanted to pursue something on this issue further if you did have a change of heart.
I've already said several times way before this that this might be a mod thing. But if it's anything, it's a mistake, not an intentional thing. Even Crazy has said there were NO INCONSISTENCIES. The item's rules did not change from one turn to another.
More than anything, I have an issue with the fact that the host can't acknowledge he made a mistake. The intent of the post is pretty clear, and it makes sense no other way. When I tried to politely explain this, he cusses me out and threatens me. And it's not the first time.
Here is a tip for you Yomiel. Try to follow Rule 1.

If you think the moderator has made a mistake just let them know in pm. They will either attempt to correct the mistake (if it really was a mistake) or not (if it wasn't). You can't argue with them about whether or not it was a mistake. As the mod they decide if it was a mistake or otherwise.

I did not insult you. I asked if this was your first game where you were the host.
Hippo, this is an issue that needs to be resolved. This is not the first game-effecting mistake. Crazy could have just come forward and said he made a mistake when all this started or contacted me to get this straightened out. He did not. Instead, he insisted there were no inconsistencies-the item's rules did not change. Even when it must have become more apparent to him, he said nothing. Now this is the result.
