('Forced Sequential' Rules - see below)

A best-of-3, 16-player bracket-style knockout tournament.

Players decide whether they begin their campaign on the Wales, or the Ireland map. Players must post this when signing -up. 8 spaces are available to start on either map.
[/color]

'Forced Sequential' Rules:
Spoiler
Each match-up will be best-of-3.

One game will be sequential, the others freestyle where each player goes first (as green) once. This ensures no player starts all 3 games and thereby gains a massive advantage.

Although freestyle settings are used, players should play sequentially.

In simple terms, the difference with a normal freestyle game is that, during the first 12 hours of a turn, the player going second must wait until the player going first ends his turn.

This applies to the first turn where the TO will arrange staggerred invites to determine which player goes first.

If the player designated to go second (red) takes his turn within the first 12 hrs of the round (if green hasn't completed his turn), it will result in losing the game. Missing a turn or messing about with accepting an invite then dropping, or inviting someone (this is the TO's job) will be treated similarly.

If green doesn't take his turn within 12 hours then it is a legitimate for red to take his go. If red then finishes his turn before green then he is set to go first in the the next round. Green must then wait 12 hours or until red has finished his turn (green would lose the game if he fails to do so).

Missing a turn also results in losing the game in question.

To stay within the rules:

(1) Accept invites.
(2) Dont drop a game after accepting the invite.
(2.5) Don't invite someone to join you in a game (!).
(3) Remember, in the first round, green should go first, so, if you are green then play whenever you are ready.
(4) Be careful about going first, usually green should go first. So, if you are red do not play until either: green has finished his turn, or, 12 hours of the turn have elapsed. The only exception is when green has taken more than 12 hours to take his turn and has gained going first advantage (see above).
(5) Don't miss a turn.
(6) Report any rule violations by your opponent to the TO.

Question: If green misses a turn, or as he takes more than 12 hours, would red end up going first?
Answer: Red would end up going first in the round in question (and green lose the game if he misses entirely). In the following round, red would be set to go first and green must wait for 12 hours (or for red to finish his turn) before taking his turn (failure to do so, would result in green losing the game).
Details:
Spoiler
A 16-player, 1 v 1, knockout 'bracket'-style tournament.

First Round
In the First Round, 8 players battle against each other, best-of-3, on the Wales map.

Similarly, 8 players battle against each other, best-of-3, on the Ireland map.

Second Round
In the Second round, winners from either map face one another. They will play 2 games on each other's 'home' map (home player starting first in 'forced sequential'), and 2 games on the Scotland map (each player starting first in one Scotland game by 'forced sequential'). Should both players win 2 games each then a best-of-3 tie-break will take place (one 'forced sequential' game on each players 'home' map and one sequential game on Scotland).

Semi-Finals
In the Semi-Finals, players will again play 2 games on each other's 'home' map* (home player starting first in 'forced sequential'), and 2 games on the Celtic Nations map (each player starting first in one Celtic Nations game by 'forced sequential'). Should both players win 2 games each then a best-of-3 tie-break will take place (one 'forced sequential' game on each players 'home' map and one sequential game on Celtic Nations).

Final
In the Final, players will again play 2 games on each other's 'home' map* (home player starting first in 'forced sequential'), plus 2 games on the Scotland map and 2 games on the Celtic Nations map (each player starting first in one Celtic Nations game and one Scotland by 'forced sequential'). Should both players win 3 games each then a best-of-3 tie-break will take place (one 'forced sequential' game on each players 'home' map and one sequential game on Celtic Nations).

* Depending on previous results, it is possible that tin the semi-finals or final, both opponents may have the same 'home' map.

Match Options
Spoiler
Each match will be Automatic with No Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War.

2 games in each match will be freestyle (with 'forced sequential' rules - see above) and 1 game will be Sequential.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule
Spoiler
When going first, all players must, either wait 6 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and where from. Failure to undertake either measure will result in loss of the game in question.
Players
Spoiler
There will be 16 players.

Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Premium required.

Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).

Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser.
Reserves
Spoiler
After the First Round, reserve PMs will initially be sent to the player(s) eliminated in the previous round. If none of these players respond within 24 hours, then all players eliminated will be sent a PM. When a PM is sent, the first reserve to respond will gain a place.

For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
Joining Matches
Spoiler
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Winning Matches
Spoiler
Winners of each best-of-3 match are expected to PM the Tournament Organiser.
Seedings / The Draw
Spoiler
Players will be drawn at random by random.org.

Hmmm ...

Green gets the seond invite. Most people in green's position iwould then take their turn, thus nullifying any issue (i.e green would be set to go first by the system), apart from that you need to wait for green to finish his turn before you start.

However, it has been known for a green player to do the following:
  • Deliberately wait to take his turn in the hope that red breaks the rules by going first.
Forget to take his turn for hours
In either of these cases, red needs to wait 12 hours - if green hasn't taken his turn by then, then red can go first , and will remain going first for future rounds.

As Sebasjun did not state a home map, or reply to a PM request for one, then Tirbid takes the final spot in the tournament.
