Ty for the link! The graphics on that are pretty good but the layout is somewhat cramped, and perhaps confusing to navigate. Ok for seasoned players maybe.
I think it would be good to also have a more simple map, like 'classic' but in space.
Here is a quick sketch I did on paintbrush, just to give ...
Why not a space-map based on our solar system. 1,000 years in the future when humans have colonised it. (assuming we survive this long!)
It could work as follows... You have the various 'inhabitable' planets or moons e.g. Earth, Mars, Io, Titan etc... of various sizes. Each has a number of ...
I was never played many games on old classic, and the new classic with its curvy airline-style routes still confuses me. My question is what are the best spots (Asia and NA) to build your stack?
Agreed fixed territories would not be as good. I reckon if you partition USA and China and Russia into smaller pieces there should be enough 'rich' territories to allow random deployment.
But whatever the case it will be interesting to see what you come up with...
Well I am not a map-maker, I am not going to make it myself. Anyone is welcome to take the idea and run with it but I think the original concept outlined in my first post is the best. The values would be military value to an occupying army: a combination of economic output (USA regions, Japan, West ...
Well I don't know how the code works in map-making. But ideally you would set it up one of two ways: either so can only drop on rich territories or so you can only drop on poor territories. Remaining lands would be assigned neutral until conquered.
Has anyone thought to create a map based on the real world. ie. one where the value of territories reflects their economic/industrial/military capability in the real world.
The layout I am thinking of would be somewhat like World 2.0 map. Except China and India would be divided up into smaller ...
Apologies if this has been said already, but for me all the connecting lines make it look like an airline map. Makes it look as though the territories are not territories so much as cities connected by airports. I prefer maps with territorial-borders, like World 2.1.
Having never tried this map before now I was wondering... if you control the whole continent eg. NA then do you still get the lower bonuses as well, eg. 'all USA' or 'all Canada'?
