My view is that this is more a game option than a map feature, an extension of the existing reinforcement functionality rather than a complex addition to map XMLs that would actually need a game enhancement to go with it anyway..

I don't agree with you. I agree with Dukasaur that just because there is a bigger problem of membership, doesn't mean that small changes are not worth the while. I just don't understand the logic. You can still play the same way now as when there was 22k members. Create games that are the style you enjoy and foster a group of people that like that style.
