4. big river on the left. i don't know the geography in that area but i suppose the lump of water on the left is supposed to be a river starting somewhere in allyn and going into the ocean. well the starting point is too damn abrupt. rivers tend to be small at the creek and later turn become bigger ...

XML bugs: OMA Omaha and KYC Kansas City SOU can attack CHI Chicago EMP, but shouldn't.

OMA Omaha should be able to attack CHI Chicago CAL, but can't.

The basic problem here is that first Greasemonkey modifies the html when it's loaded, and then AJAX comes by and modifies it again. Even if it's modified so that Greasemonkey doesn't break the AJAX stuff - which shouldn't be too hard - getting the greasemonkey-added elements to update when the map ...

better? The river in the south is actually Carbon River and the river in the north is White River...White River actually flows into Carbon River on the REAL maps... should I lie, and continue it to the sound?

Well, you can either lie and continue it to the sound, or you can have it actually ...

good start so far. You've found a region that lends itself to a CC map.

The color palette doesn't work for me... seems a bit bright for the Pacific Northwest.

I don't know. Seattle is the "emerald city", Tacoma really is gray, and Olympic National Park is strangely appropriate in teal ...

Your "concept" might as well be gibberish, I don't understand a bit of it. :? All I see is a map and some numbers with no explanation of what they mean or how they were derived. Perhaps you should try just saying what your idea is, preferably in complete sentences.

Straight dashed lines might work. I looked at the official ferry map (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/images/maps/route-map-overview.gif) and they solve the funny curve problem by changing the geography.

36 territories makes for a bad map for 1v1 games, since each player starts with exactly 12.

and how is that bad?

First player gets 4 armies, conquers a territory from the other player. Second player now has 11 territories, gets 3 armies, conquers a territory back. First player gets 4 armies ...

I think that allowing any ferry terminal to attack any other ferry terminal will be less cluttered visually, be easier to understand, make for better gameplay, and distinguish the map from all the other maps based on real locations. But that is just my opinion. If you want to keep the ferries on ...

Ferry routes - Still ugly. I know you want to keep the map true to reality, but come on, when you need to move an army surely you can hijack the ferries and make them go to a terminal off the normal route.

Silverdale, Bremerton, Allyn - I'm a bit concerned there won't be room for army circles on ...

For the borders, I think something subtler might work, maybe a dotted line with a bit of colored glow underneath. But I don't think too much work should be put into making all the borders pretty until there's a consensus on where they should go. :)

ok, as much as i like everyone adding suggestions, i should point out that there will be no one-way borders, single territory bonuses, airports, transporters, etc...

this one is strictly classic-style.

I love the new border style.

Oldstones/Bloody Gate is a bit squintworthy, yes. I think it would be worth moving the border a bit for clarity, even if it's not strictly faithful to the books.

Bitterbridge and Harrenhall don't really feel like they border each other. I'd rather see the borders ...

Thanks for doing this map, I was hoping someone would get to it. My suggestions, and the reasons for each one.

Number of territories - I think it would be better to end up with 42 territories, the size of the standard map. 36 is a very bad number for 1v1 games; both players start with 12 ...

I looked at the code, and it looks like it has nothing to do with the game chat. Lack made a separate change in the way data on army positions is passed to map.php, and the script can't parse the new format.

Disclaimer: I'm using an older version of the script with some custom changes, YMMV...

It looks like the input to map.php changed, from map.php?map=...&resolution=...&armies=X-X,X-X,... to map.php?map=mapXXXX..

The greasemonkey script depended on parsing that for information, so the new format makes it get all confused. Worse, I don't any way to fix it, since the information on how ...

Refreshing the page every 10 seconds would put way too much load on the server.

A technique that would work is called AJAX. It's how stuff like Google Maps works. It would involve a whole lot of coding to do, and I'm sure there are other changes that are higher priority...

The easy solution would just be to copy everyone's current ranking to each of the categories, and let them vary separately from then on.
