whining in all sorts of threads isn't helping. if you want something changed go to the classic thread in the foundry

Actually, 88% of people have voted against the shading of the army shadows that are on the current version. There are many other excellent minor changes that were made to the Classic map that are not in dispute.
As for being "forced" to play on it, those of us with color issues have been "forced" to play on the old classic map for the past two years. A week or two from now this will all be behind us and we can put our focus back on the game!

When the players with the "color" issues chose to start a game on the Classic Classic map (not the BLINDING Classic map), they made a FREE CHOICE....
When I and others had CURRENTLY ACTIVE GAMES changed to the BLINDING CLASSIC map, this was NOT A CHOICE...
The BLINDING CLASSIC map should have been made AN OPTION for new games...not IMPOSED ONTO CURRENT GAMES started under the Classic Classic map... DUHHHH

So... you're saying that people who were born colorblind should have to make a choice if they want to play a map they've played their entire Risk experience, prior to CC? That they should play at their own risk? What if... just maybe... some colorblind people like playing Classic, and like playing CC too? What're they supposed to do? Lack is just trying to make it easier for a fraction (and a significant fraction: Wiki Article) of the population to play on the site.
And honestly, is the map reallly THAT bad? I voted to tone it down a bit, but I can live with it for the time being.

Nah, i don't think he's saying that and nor is Robinette.. it reminds me of Edmund Burkes analysis of the French compared to the American Revolution.
To cut a long, boring story shortit is all about prescription; in a sense, the maintenance of status quo and evolution being the correct path to a succesful society.
Burke held that the French were wrong to revolt, as they sought to tear up and disrupt the traditional structure, where no alteration in balance between ruler and subject had been made.
But that the American colonies were justified. Not least due to King George III imposition of new taxes upon the colonies, where there had been none before. In so doing the King had changed the fundamental relationship between Sovereign and Subject.
So, what they are saying is that the burden of justice should rest upon the changer; the 'injustice' was committed against those in favour of the status quo.
hehe well i hope that bored some of the steam out of you...

CC is about playing and having fun. If the adaptations make the map better, go for it. And if people are so fond of the old map: take a screen shot and save it on your computer... CC is not a museum...
Btw, if the old map used to be a picture of a cow's ass, people would still be romantic about it. So the 'deep feelings of love' for the old map are not due to the old map, but due to the person loving it!
And I guess that if the circles would slowly have been changed to a lighter colour, nobody would have noticed it...Asking afterwards to change it back to black might have raised the same reactions
