i haven't read the entire thread, so my apologies if this has been brought up and settled...

I find it odd to see rivers that end spontaneously. I understand that the river graphics are there only to represent unpassable borders, but the rivers do have to go somewhere. Perhaps continue the rivers and bridge them in crossable spots? Or some way to distinguish between a crossable and uncrossable river?

Overall I'm digging this map, Pep. Not sure if the linen texture on the army circles works with the rest of the image.

Right now, the river running around Moscow is the only one that just ends. I did this because the river actually ends there, in a small lake. There was another on the far right (east), but I replaced that with mountains. The one on the bottom (next to Tuva) could be extended, but I think it would look odd in the dead area. Also, I think I might tinker with the army circles a bit. Maybe try some new effects, textures, etc.

              Final Forge

---The Soviet Union Map has reached the ā€˜Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry Furnace (okay, maybe not) and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

never noticed this map before - wow she looks sweet, its obvious why she made it to final forge - this map will really appeal to the traditionalists on this site i suspect
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

The River next to to Tuva could be extended to run along the southern border of the playable area... you know, to keep the chinese out of the game! The actual river doesn't exactly run the path of the border, but it's pretty close from what I can tell on maps.

I'm going to keep saying it until the masses agree with me, but put a picture of an atomic bomb somewhere in the Arctic Ocean. Make it look like the picture of Stalin.

Andrew, as much as I like Wade and enjoy his maps, the forum is here so we can make maps as awesome as possible. So if you think I'm going to stop voicing my opinion when this map isn't yet ready for quenching (sorry, buddy, but work on the mountains), then you are one dead wrong little Cook.

And the point of sweet signatures is to make ugly people like you feel pretty for once. :P

these is mine first look on these map,and i must say that you have some very confysing names,i think that you need help from some Russian member in CC,because mix of Ruso-English letter is not good.
"Workers of the all world unite"these is not corect translation, who tell you these?
Also you have mix of provinces, sities and Soviet Republic.(example you have Republic Belarus but instead republic Ukraine you have Sevastopol and Kiev- very strange)
Did you know that Soviet union have 16 republic? you put only 5 republic.
I think that these map have many mising things, but these is hepend when people dont know nothing abouth Soviet Union, then thinking that these map is corect.
Well these is mine opinion, but its look that people decide that these is ok.

We make exceptions for how things actually are sometimes for game play. Did you know the Middle East is full of countries? Classic doesn't care.

This map is most definetly ready for quench, i dont feel it needs another iamge. The stalin image works perfctly and i feel an extra image will add needed busyness to the map. The montains to me are acceptable, they fit the theme. They probably could use a TWEEK but not to the extent that it should ope this one back from being quenched.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

we do need to check the territory names, since some have the modern name at the moment instead of the soviet version. two examples are belarus, which was byelorussia in soviet times, and kyrgyzstan, which was known as kirghizia.
