all the colours are different for me on this map and I'm as colour blind as they get
how much MORe ON the fence can you get if someone doesn't want a change on there own art
and it does not affects gameplay or legibility in anyway just except the fact and bow out
Can someone show me what my version looks like with that visuecheck. As for bowing out, The added layers do improve this map. Anyone can see that. :P
My work on this is free, and would love to see shakey use it. The way it is now, only the rail lines are in relief. The land and water are flat. My ideas only adds depth, by raising the land in relief from the water. The whole map comes to life as a 3-D model, instead of a flat surface.
This is shaky's map and will forever have her name on it. No one is trying to rob her. I think that you are looking at it all wrong. It is to her benefit to have talented helpers here in the foundry to help HER map, ...be all it can be. :D

You are wrong, and off topic.
You are acting belligerent, and you seem to be playing the hero, in defense of the lady. What you do NOT understand is no one is attacking her. And you are the one that seems to be craving attention.

like the changes. the green line is better that way. it just needs the same kind of adjustment where it overlaps the bridge.

I like the changes a lot. I think both Downtown and Port Moody look great. But am I mistaken in seeing that a land bridge into Downtown from Kitsilano exists on the larger map but is omitted on the smaller map? I don't think it matters if it's there or not (save for geographic accuracy, I suppose) but it does have to be consistent on the two maps.

As for the debate about saturation. Like I said before, I'm with porkenbeans insofar as my personal preference. But that's just an artistic component that is subjective. If others--particularly the mapmaker--like it the way it is, I don't think it's a debate that should hold up the final forge process. To my eyes, everything that needed to be tended to has been (save for my question above). I really think this is almost ready for Beta.

Peter, you're right - I was playing with the small map first, and forgot to do to the large one all the things I did to the small one. I suppose the bridge SHOULD be there, as it reinforces easily that the two territories touch (one may not see that they touch next to Hastings too).

Right, touches the bridge from Kerrisdale to Bridgeport. Will do.

Shakeycat, this is your map, and it's very nearly finished =D>

Once the attack routes from Downtown have been made clear on the large and small versions of the map, then all we need is to get the XML sorted.

The past 10 months have been a bit of a slog, but the finishing line is in sight ;-)

Looking good...

The only thing I would suggest, is a tiny tweak to the inlet near Downtown, so that the blue rail line has a bit of yellow territory between it and the sea (to make it completely obvious that the connection is there ;-)

Have you posted your XML in the XML Check thread (at the top of the forge)? One Forza AZ has checked it out, then you should be pretty good to go...

And thanks Mr Benn, I will go post there now!

It shouldn't be too long - just need to iron out the last tiny bits, and make sure the XML is wrinkle-free, and we'll be ready to rock and roll ;-)

Shakeycat, I think there are still some tiny alterations we're waiting for (such as the Burns Bog army circle).

I've had word that the XML has passed, and the coordinates all look well centred to me, with the exceptions of Deer Lake and Metrotown. It might be easier to shift the army circles very slightly, rather than fiddle with the XML.

Once those things are done, then I think this map should be good to go.

Just one thing with the XML: the 888 on SFU covers up the S on the small map. Just scoot the number over to the left and it's good to go :)

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Vancouver Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!
