Lance, go ahead and do the small one now. Any problem now will/should only be minor. Silly things like the names you squashed together. Things like that which are small 5 minute jobs.

Couple of things for me.

First, you should be commended for your persistence, hard work, and determination. This map will surely be a fan favorite.

Now, in my opinion, the names of the terts are too close together on both maps, as in the Hautes-Alpes, Alpes de Haute Provence, Haute-Rhin, and many others. There is plenty of space to make them work, but I think you might have to redraw a couple of borders. Example: Haute-Garonne and Gers border, as well as Corse du Sud to throw another in there.

I also think the text on the small map is a little unclear, or too small. I'm not sure if you can bring it up a px, but that might help.

Sorry if that makes a lot of work for you, but I think it will help.

Small map text on the map is unreadable. This is always the thing with the small map. Some things you can resize well whilst other things you need to redraw. Can you remove those 888s please, they are really bad when scaled down. They will be the same size for the small map.

Unfortunately you will need to post a small version with the correct 888's. That's one of the two biggest pains with the small map, having to redo all of the text so it looks right, and loading in the original 888's so they are the same size as the ones on the large version. Basically the 888's are the same size for both versions, so you can't just scale down the large without redoing them, and the text.

Here you go lance. As Seamus said, text and 888s are the biggest pain but worth that little extra.

Lance, as before, some things to look at. Remember, this is a naked eye look and the graphics boys may find other things.

Where you see red lines, you have a problem. Look at names and borders. Either move a name or enlarge the border to make the name and number fit inside the region.
Cataglone, the black arrow is on the name. Move the arrow to just outside the region.
Corse, when you shrink the regions, do not shrink this so much. This way the island will be bigger than normal but will fit the names and numbers in better.
Nord at the top, swap the name and numbers around.
Very top of map. You have a yellow line. This goes under England but over France and under the blue line at the sea. Remove the line, but if you cannot do that easily, make it all one level. Over or under everything.
Paris insert, enlarge the image (not the inset itself) so the 3 regions playable are slightly bigger.

But all in all, I think this is going to be great. Who is doing the xml for this? I hope they have started.

There are a couple of things I have mentioned before:
1. The mini-map needs to have the bonus region names more visible. I suggested to use a soft outer glow to bring the text out. This needs to be done, not necessarily an outer glow, but something to make the text easier to read.
2. The Foreign claims graphic on the main part of the map needs to have the opacity increased to be able to read the 888's, or my suggestion is to place the 888 off to the side of the foreign claim. For Catalogne, you may need to use an oval or something so that the 888 will not be invisible on the water. The 888's should be good to go everywhere else.

Everything else is looking good, so get these two things done, and I'll take another look.

Here all adjustments.

For your second point, I think we should keep the 888 inside of foreign claims. That's why I applied more opacity. I note that read well the numbers.

On the mini-map, move the bonus regions names COR, ALS, and NOR outside the region so they can be read easier.

You should of already started the xml, why delay now?

Lance, one very tiny nit pick from me and them I am done. I look forward to an invite from you when it becomes beta.

ALS (wording) in the mini map. It looks to be darker than the rest. Please make it look the same.

Sorry lance, what I mean is that you need to write it yourself or get someone to do it for you. I can talk you through it as it is pretty easy but it becomes annoying very fast. This map is going to be a very quick one to do and should only take 45 minutes to write with the xml wizard.

xml wizard is a great tool, but I only use it for a couple of things. Regions and continents. Forget everything else in the wizard. You will have to do that by hand. But you will find you can toggle the green bars, so when you do the regions, you can toggle the far left one (cords) to show neutrals. After that, save it and come out. Copy and paste to notebook.
