That is why we should just quench it and quit arguing about names cos in a "take the piss" sort of map like this one, you cannot make everybody happy

When I read names on these maps. Europe Jr. and East India are the only 2 that I don't like. A kid would think of China more than India in describing that region, also what's wrong with The Orient?

And I still think Europe should be called Francis in the west and Pole-land in the east.

What about 'History', 'Olden Days' or 'Old Stuff'? Though I liked 'Mexican Speakers' too...

All this arguing over names will never end!!! Everyone has a different idea about what a small kid would call these places because small kids are all at different levels of stupid.

but the other countries have either slightly funny names or funny borders..

Junior isn´t making me frown or giggle. USA jr would. Or "Girlie flick turf" or Hollywood backdrop.

I think junior is less fun than all the other dozens of suggestions, but
I will shut up if the evil man himself say he definitely wants to keep it..

Hulmey - you confuse me...

In this thread you hate how simple the map is...

Yet in DiM & Mibi's threads you hate how complext the maps are...

Or is it that you are simply against change and progression?

I agree that it's not the best but I can't think of anything better and I'm very much at this point inclined to put an end to this name discussion so I can get on with this map and onto other ones.

I think this map is lucky to have any humor in it whatsoever considering it's automatically above average in that department.

germany and egypt are too plain, and i don't like making germany so damn big. since it's eastern europe, maybe it should be "buffer zone."

I agree.

I'm terribly sorry that this map is being delayed, but I'm experiencing unfortunate slowdown in changing formats and hopefully I can get the whole thing done soon.

Another issue that I wanted to raise is the basic army grants. Now that the new XML features are in, it's possible to change this to grant, say, a minimum of two armies with an extra or each three, or a minimum of one wih an extra for each two, or anything really. This might be very beneficial -- in Ireland, even, for instance, it's a hassle to get the twelve territories needed for a single extra army. Any thoughts on this sort of thing?

I know we all want to get this map up. But I know when I was little I could never spell egypt right and I would always spell it eygpt. Just one more thing to think about.

I think now that it is possible (or that it will soon be possible) we should reconsider restructing the troops per turn to so that it starts as 1 or 2 instead of 3.

This would be the code for it (2 to start):

<collection>
<name>Territores</name>
<components>
<component>Canada</component>
<component>USA</component>
<component>Greenland</component>
<component>Andy's Mountains</component>
<component>Brazil</component>
(... you get it list all the territories)
</components>
<bonuses>
<bonus quantity="1">-1</bonus> (-2 for 1 to start)
</bonuses>
</collection>

This will make it so if you hold at least one territory you start with -1 (2 guys). This will mean 3 for 12, 4 for 15 and, well, if you have 18 you win... lol
