I know I'm three years late, wanted to say this map looks great. But Braganca is spelled Bragança and maybe it would be cooler to call Douro => D'Ouro, the old name. Also you could put Braga inside the region to make it more visible.
It's going to be mostly portuguese nationals playing this game, so if you include a small flag in the corner it will probably get picked more. :P

Some corrections should be made concerning the NAMES writen in the map of PORTUGAL:
1. Covilhã should be called Castelo Branco (and vice-versa)
2. Alentejo Norte should be called Portalegre
3. Portalegre should be called Elvas
4. Estermoz should be called Estremoz
5. Alentejo Sul should be called Mértola
6. Algarve Este should be called Tavira
7. Açores oriental has 2 islands (instead of 3)
8. Açores centro has 5 islands (instead of 4)[/list]
Many thanks.

Unfortunately the PSD for this map has long since be lost I won't be able to change names without a full revamp, which I do not think will happen any time soon. Sorry.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Hello, people. I'm from Porugal and relatively new to Risk.

The portuguese map is not really realistic at all. Many misplaced names, regions which don't exist, etc.

How can I help?

If the mapmaker doesn't want the map to be changed, there's nothing that can be done unfortunately.

I could try to make a fresh new map, and submit it to evalution. It will take a lot of time though.

It doesn't work quite like that... It's more like, you post your first gameplay draft on the drafts forum, then you get feedback, post an update, get feedback, post an update, etc. You will go through several forums, each of which focuses on different aspects of the map: gameplay, graphics, final touches & xml. It's a lot of work, the whole process takes anything from 6 to 18 months and a lot of maps never make it to the end, but if you stick to it and commit to your work, you will make it through eventually.

This is just to let you know what is required if you decide to go through with it. Hope to see your map in the drafting room soon!

Thank you very much for your feedback.

So where shall I start if I try to make a new map of Portugal? Drawing a first map and opening a Portugal 2.0 thread?

I don't want to be unpolite to the author of the current map of Portugal.

If you already have a first draft made, then post it on the drafting room.
