Anadolu(Asia minor, comprising most of modern Turkey)-----------------------Adrianople
Gelibolu--------Gallipoli
Dayr az Zog-----Deir ez Zor
Konya-antep-----Konya
Kutais-Batum----Kutaisi
AKbah-----------Sinai
Izmir-----------Smyrna
Now these names is most apropriated for map.
OK qwert...to be fair....after this current poll in run, we'll have another poll and let the foundry commenters decide what goes on the map. I'd prefer the original english names, but others might have another choice.

Strange decision, every body know for Gallipoli(these is one example) and you want to add gelibolu(turkish name).
Anadolu is name for Asia Minor-all turkey and you put in place where is Adrianople(Edirne in turkey)
Sinai Peninsula is proper name for Akbah.
Well i just want to help to be proper, its up to you.

exactly qwert, and that is why i make this decision to have poll. because sometimes what i see is not right, sometimes what others like you see is not right and sometimes we all not right.

so the chinese maps should be in chinese character? The Mongol map in mongol text ?
And in worldmaps should have each individual country have its national spelling?
And what about contested areas ? The ottoman empire though appearing united in reality was and always had been a conglomerate of small groups of nationalities (as in Tito's Yugoslavia, as in Today's China, as in Former Soviet Union, as in etc..etc..)..
But what do you know, you're American.

Why shouldn't they be? Put English underneath or something.

Ruben Cassar wrote:Hey cairns...this map looks great, but why did you use the inset? Couldn't you have fitted the army circles in the main map? A mini map could be used to fill that extra space.
I also have some big problems to distinguish the colours. Aleppo and Adana regions look a bit similar and the pink British territories are hard to see. Perhaps a darker red would do the trick. I'm sorry to bring this up because the colour scheme is really nice but a bit confusing for my colour blind eyes.

For the Allies you have
Great Britain
Italy
France
and
Russian Empire
Mussien of Mecca
Consider using the collective terms i.e.
British
French
Italian
Especially as these areas aren't "France" - they are "French" however.

And am I the only one concerned about this trend of new maps with legends that are as large as the playing area?

And community satisfaction
I sort of agree that the legends takes up to much needless space, but its not really a big issues to me to be honest.

Come on cairns, we're not all perfect. Sometimes we don't have time to read everything you know

The army circles fitted, but the one-way arrow didn't and it was very cramped compared to the rest of the map.oaktown wrote:And am I the only one concerned about this trend of new maps with legends that are as large as the playing area?
