It doesn't matter if this is the Internet. Maybe you don't consider the fact that there's someone else on the other end of the wire. An actual person. Just because you don't see their face doesn't make you any less of a jerk.
haha, I'm sure. And you know nothing of my life, so prejudging me just makes yourself look ignorant.
I think you're the one who isn't reading. Earlier, I said that it is possible for someone to play their friends and not lose points. All they have to do is get their friends to throw a few games, and they've got their points back. If you're talking about playing against the general CC populace, then how about this: private games cannot be unranked. They can play against their friends, but it will be hard unless they're all on at the same time.
Throwing games is an abuse of the system, and usually pretty detectable by the Multi-hunters. And the fact is, people don't have to play private games. Point is, they can play 1 game a month, and start 50 fun games in public. Then, they get to enjoy being the "best"/high-ranked, and not have to risk their points in all but 1 game, where they could do as above, perhaps play a real 1v1; just make it against someone who has near rank, and they won't lose too much. A free way to stay on the top, while others are busy fighting and lowering each others score? And only need a point change of 20 or so per month? Sounds pretty nice and easy to abuse to me.
And maybe the rest of us are trying to "inform" the mods about problems with the current system. You just call it complaining because it serves your purposes.
haha. I never said you were complaining. You said I was complaining, because I'm giving you feedback on A) why this idea has been rejected 20 or so times, and B) the reasoning behind why that has happened.
Kotaro wrote:And you're using this opportunity to A) not actually read, and B) look like an idiot. And for the record, I have no beef with sailorseal; when people post like idiots, I make them look like such
Besides, seal already said you have a beef with him. I think it's safe to say that you're judging him by what he wrote in some other forum, not by the actual content of this thread.
That's exactly what I'm doing right now. Quit flaming unless you actually have reasonable thoughts. And no, I have no beef with seal. or Owenshooter. Or anyone else. When people make posts that are pretty stupid, I make truthful, but harsh posts about why their idea is stupid. It just so happens, that seal pops up a lot.
No... it doesn't, not any more than the current system. See above, and read it this time.
This wouldn't fix any of the current abuse though, it would merely open the way for much more abuse, and make it easier.
First of all, it's not "my" scoreboard change. The idea was from cicero in the Scoring Ad-Hoc.
Second, the suggestion addresses the same problem that this one does. So, it's perfectly reasonable to post it in here.
Third, I'm defending both this idea and the scoreboard change, and you still don't have a rebuttal against either. You're just saying the same thing over and over. Actually read what I wrote this time, please, or get somebody to help you.

First, it doesn't matter whos idea it is. Farang had several, porkerbeans had a few; the final line is, when you pick up the flag and start running around in other threads, posting about how this idea would help someone elses, than you're trolling others to support your idea.
Second, this suggestion addresses making fun games, which most newbies won't notice right away anyways, and they'll still have a chance to be farmed before they even notice. And some won't directly understand the idea of the point system, so they won't know to play unranked first. And then, some will be cocky, even if they do understand, and still play ranked to start. This idea adds fun games; it isn't there to be a "omg stop farming now" suggestion, it's just a "have a little more fun" suggestion.
Third, I've made many rebuttals throughout this thread, in very fine, easy to read text. If you can't understand that, then there is no reason for me to post, since you don't seem to understand it anyways. Not overly shocking, but it is reasonable, with how many on this forum are.
Oh, and your "you are too stupid to read" flame-bait was in pretty poor taste. Since I'm such a dick in real life, you're sure showing me how you're so much better.
Fact: this idea has been suggested before, many times.
Fact: rejected, time and time again.
sailorseal wrote:Can I remind everyone these games will not keep you on the scoreboard, so people have to risk points
Can I remind you to read my posts? One game a month keeps you on the scoreboard. So being able to play unlimited fun games, and just play 1 speed game to keep you up there, is an easy, ass hole-ish way to keep yourself on top with next to no risk. And, if you're friends with an extremely low ranked and you're, say, the conqueror, you can ask them to throw a game, in a non-suspicious way; just make it look like you're playing very badly and/or dice are screwing you. Then, said cook loses 2-9 points, depending on how low, which is nothing, and they stay on the top for another month.
