I'm pretty sure that this has been suggested or something similar has. Next time if you're unsure search.

As for the suggestion the same multi abuse problem would occur if it's 2p or however many multi's are used. Also, why would you want to just quit? If you really must leave either get a sitter or tell the players in the game that you will have to deadbeat. Why would someone agree on it if they are ahead, so to speak(Have a bonus or higher bonus). I don't see a point in a game with no risks. I would have to say that maybe the person who proposes this loses points or something. This suggestion brings out the good in the surrender button. :?

Surrender

Postby riskking21269 on Fri Dec 28, 2007 6:11 pm

A surrender button would be good. I have had competitors abandon a game, making me wait their 3 turns before it is resolved. If a player intends to Surrender the game, they should have the option of taking an action and bowing out gracefully.

If they abandon a game you should use your 3 turns before they are booted to kill them and get their points.

"Offer Draw"

Postby the Pirate on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:07 am

Most of the negative feedback I get comes from speed games that I've clearly lost. When the game is effectively over, especially when I'm drunk, I tend to bounce on a speed game. I think a lot of negative feelings could be avoided if there was an "offer draw" button and a "concede" button, obviously one resulting in a tie (aka the game never happened), the other ending the game in favor of the other person. Or maybe i'm just dumb and impatient.

I think you make a valid point. I've played a few on Doodle Earth with no cards that go on forever. Eventually you just want to call it quits.

What do people have against deadbeating in a speed game? I understand its frustrating not being able to finish it out, but when the other person deadbeats it takes 30 minutes. And you don't even need to pay attention to it.

I like this idea but only if you are and one other guy are the only ones left. You can't suicide if it could change the winner

i would point out though that any diligent player who actually checks out his opponents would soon realise that they were abusing the forfeit button.

they dont worry about abuse of the forfeit button on Chess sites! Or is that only because that Chess players recognise they are beaten when they forfeit and bow to suprerior skill?

Very true, however in a game with more luck than in chess, you must wait much longer to truly determine who'll win. I'm 90% sure that most people here would "forfeit" from having a bad drop or bad 2 rounds. I think its interesting (and right...) that a player is forced to make the best out of any situation their given.

Chess is 1 v1 so a forfeit doesn't impact on other players. One could argue a case for having forfeits in 1 v1 games but really the whole thing is about giving freemiums the opportunity of quicker games ,that just isnt in the long term interest of the site.

Surrender option

Postby peanut72 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 10:32 pm

I would like to see a surrender option. Say a game is not going well, or you just decide you want out of a certain game. It would be nice to offer a surrender to another player, or surrender to neutral.

oh okay. Any particular reason why? I was in a game recently where it was obvious I was going to lose. I saw it coming from 3-4 turns out. But I had to keep playing my turn. I would have surrendered just to end it. Admit defeat and move on.

It has been abused. People would surrendur right before dying to give advantages to higher ranks and friends

Aaah, and if all their armies were made into neutrals, would that have the same effect?

Oooh wait, I get it. In a terminator game they could surrender to someone else.

But in escalating games the point is to kill someone to get their cards, if you could just surrender then...

I hate escalating games - too short and not a lot of strategy needed.
But I do see your point.
